After the breakups of Gerard Pique (Colombia) and Anuel A.A., the breakup song is called "Breakup Anthem".

Twitter is ablaze with Shakira's and Karol G's new collaboration, "TQG" (Te Quedo Grande), and its music video.

Karol G and Anul AA, Colombian pop stars, teamed up to create the breakup song. It was written by Karol last year after a terrible breakup. They share something in common. In 2021, Karol divorced from Anuel A.A. and Shakira ended their relationship with Gerard Pique, soccer stud.

The single features the pair singing about leaving behind their ex-lovers and not making the same mistakes again or trying to compete for men. They both sound like ex-lovers who have moved on to other women. However, they do suggest that their exes might still want them back.

Shakira mentions at one point that seeing her ex "with a new one hurt" but then adds, "You're no longer welcome here."

They also claim that they have "Triple M": Much hotter, more tougher, and much lighter since their splits.

Karol spoke with Rolling Stone about the song and said that it had a "personal meaning to me that evolved over the years" and, even though it doesn’t represent everything now, it was a moment in my life.

After hearing Shakira's song "Monotonia", which Karol thought was a great song about a breakup, she approached Shakira to collaborate on the song.

"Listening and understanding her story, the song 'TQG’ made a lot more sense. Karol said, "I sent it to her, and she loved it."

This collaboration is Shakira's latest single in which she seems to criticize her ex. She teamed up DJ Bizarrap in January for "BZRP music Sessions #53," where she drags an unnamed ex along with his new girlfriend.

This song was written after Shakira split with the soccer star in 2022. There are reports that he is now dating Clara Chia Marti, 23 years old. You can see the video below and find the breakdown of the lyrics.
