The Colombian superstar declared, "Now I feel complete," after separating from Pique in June 2022.
Shakira is reflecting upon her separation from Gerard Pique.
Marca had a sit-down interview where Enrique Acevedo, a Mexican journalist, asked the singer about her separation from soccer star. She also shared some of the things she's learned since.
After 11 years of being together, Shakira, 47 and Pique, 36 decided to part ways in June 2022.
Shakira explained to Shakira, at the beginning of the interview why women need to be heard and how women can support each other.
She said, "Through my music I have always felt the obligation to use my voice to lend it to others who cannot speak." "I realized that women are at an important moment in society. It is a time when the support we can give each other is vital.
"And as Madeleine Albright (U.S. Secretaryof State) used to say: "There is a place in hell for women who don't support others," she said, seeming to shade Pique and Clara Chia Marti, 23, respectively.
Shakira also spoke out about her song "BZRP music Sessions #53", which she wrote in collaboration with DJ Bizarrap. The Colombian star appears to be taking aim at Pique & Clara in the upbeat track as she drags an unnamed ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.
Shakira stated, "I'm right at the center of the discussion because of this song," and that the lyrics were inspired from how she felt following her split with Pique.
Pique, who has sons Sasha, 7 and Milan, 9 with the singer of "Hips Don’t Lie", also spoke out about how her "dream" for her family changed after Pique and her split.
Shakira stated that she also believed that a woman needed a man in order to have a family. "I had the dream of having a family where my children would have a father, and a mother all under one roof.
She said, "Not all dreams are fulfilled. But life finds a way for you to make it up to yourself somehow. I believe with me that it has more than compensated with these two wonderful kids who fill me daily with love and I have also discovered that the fable that a woman needs to be a man is false."
Three-time Grammy winner, she opened up about the impact of the split on her life. She also noted that she has become more independent.
Shakira stated, "I have been emotionally dependent on men my whole life. "I've been in love with love, and I believe I can see that story from a different perspective.
She said, "Today, I feel complete." I feel complete now."
Shakira said, "I feel that my depend on myself, and I also have two kids who depend on me, and I feel that that I have to have strength that is stronger than a Lioness. But that strength has to come from a mourning, accepting it, of tolerating failure, of learning to accept that there are dreams broken, and that you need to take the pieces out of the ground and rebuild your self."
