After she wore a red wig and two head-turning looks to the show, Twain received mixed reviews on her Instagram page.

Country singer, 57, looked stunning in two looks at Sunday's CMT Awards. She wore a Prabal Gurung Scarlet Butterfly-Printed Mesh Bodysuit with matching skirt, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, and a red wig.

She wore a three-piece Chanel outfit in vintage purple that highlighted her midriff. The look was paired with a black cowboy cap and thigh high boots.

Both outfits were a big hit with her fans, but unfortunately many of her Instagram followers weren't keen on either. She received criticism on her own page from those who commented on photos that she had shared from the night.

Many of the trolls used her comments to criticize the show for being too "woken" or too "political." Twain also included a photo showing Kelsea Ballerini performing alongside four other "RuPaul's Drag Racing" contestants in one her roundups ( over).

Many of the negative comments were met with support from fans who rallied around Twain as well as the show for its inclusion.

Twain was there to explain her fashion choices Tuesday with another post that broke down both looks.

Fashion is for me a powerful tool. It helps me express myself and my creativity. I love hanging out with my friends and it's one my favorite things about attending awards shows. She wrote.

"Life is too short for boring clothes!" "Thank you to the team behind @cmt #CMTAwards Looks," she said, before praising stylists Chris Horan & Greer Heavrin as well as tagging all designers who contributed to her appearance that evening.

InStyle spoke to Twain, Horan and Shania about Tuesday's looks. The stylist said that her red carpet outfit was "extremely bold yet effortless". Shania said that fashion is "a playground" and she has a lot of fun with the process.

She said, "Style and fashion are an integral part of country music for artists and fans alike." "For me, creativity doesn't end with the music. Fashion is an extension to the entire story.
