He wants to "get to the place where I no longer hate you", while she is "not going do anything for him any more."

sister wives stars Kody Brown, and Christine Brown try to find a middle ground following their divorce... but it is not an easy journey.

In a sneak peek of the new season premiere, by Us Weekly the couple meets up to discuss their plans after calling it quits with the previous season.

I've considered doing break-up counselling with you. Like 'Hey, we're finished.' "Let's get to a place where can be functional," he said, after sitting across from his ex. "Post-breakup counseling?" Christina interrupted with a laugh, "What is it for?"

After Kody suggests that he might only need "grief counselling", he continues, "Listen to me, I have to get to a point where I no longer hate you, so I can never speak badly about you to my kids." That's what I worry about."

She replied, "It's okay if you want to come and talk with me about your breakup. The whole thing is heartbreaking, and very sad.

Kody, however, didn't seem appreciative of that comment. He added in a confessional: "She's attempting to say that it's heartbreaking?" She is acting as if her life has never been better.

"I'm feeling like, yeah, I have to find out how to forgive this woman. It's a good plan. Will I ever trust her? "Probably not," he concluded. Christine, in her confessional, noted that Kody had brought up the topic of counseling many years ago -- but she was confident, once again, that "we weren't going to do it. We just weren't going to."

She doesn't appear to want or need therapy at this time.

"I cared for years. "I wanted to be his best wife, no matter what he needed or wanted," she said. "Even if it didn't really matter to him, he could have asked me to do anything." But I'm finished. "I'm not going do anything for him anymore."

Christine and Kody announced their separation in November 2021 after 27 years of marriage. The couple has seven children, Aspyn Mykelti Paedon Gwendlyn Ysabel Truely.

She revealed at the time on Instagram that "after more than 25 years of being together, Kody has grown apart from me and I've made the difficult choice to leave." We will remain a constant presence in each others' lives while we raise our children and support our family. We ask you to be kind and gracious as we move through this difficult time in our family.

Kody married Meri, his first wife in 1990. Janelle then joined the family in 1993 through a spiritual union. Christine joined the family spiritually in 1994. Robyn followed suit in 2010. Kody divorced Meri to marry Robyn legally in 2014.

Meri and Kody have "permanently" ended their marriage. Christine is no longer in the picture. He is also "separated from Janelle."
