Ellen DeGeneres' show veteran said she gave birth via c-section after being told by doctors that her baby had been born unnaturally.
Sophia Grace Brownlee recalls the sequence of events that lead to her last month's birth.
The 19-year old "The Ellen DeGeneres show" alum officially introduced her baby boy to her viewers in a YouTube video. Before diving into her birth story, she also posted the video to her YouTube channel. Sophia Grace gave birth on February 26 to her son.
Although she has yet to reveal the name of her baby, she did give fans a glimpse at the infant. While holding the newborn, the social media star spoke: "So I thought that I'd give my fans a little peek." "I don't want to show his face yet, I just don't feel ready yet."
He's only two weeks old and three days. Brownlee continued cuddling her newborn, who had already grown a full head with matching dark hair.
The influencer later revealed that she was in labor after filming her last video for her YouTube channel.
Brownlee shared, "My last video, which you can actually see on my channel, was Weekend Vlog, I think. It was where I just went out and showed you guys what was going on -- I actually went into labour that evening, like mid-night," Brownlee said. I went out as usual, as you can see in the vlog. "I was with my dad."
She felt little to no pain throughout her day and went to bed. However, she woke up with severe stomach cramps at 3:00 a.m. Sophia Grace, who was experiencing severe stomach cramps at 3 a.m., recalled calling her mother. She attributed the pain to Braxton-hicks. Sophia Grace had previously admitted to crying wolf during her pregnancy to prepare for her labor.
After timing her contractions using an app, the influencer called a midwife hotline and made a decision to go to the hospital.
"I arrived at the hospital and went to the examination room. I was three centimeters dilate when I entered. She explained that I was shocked because you must be at least 10 years old to give birth.
Sophia Grace received an epidural shortly after she experienced "the worst" pain. After experiencing fever and throbbing headaches, Sophia Grace, a social media star, was told by her delivery team that forceps were necessary to assist her delivery.
She continued, "Soon after that another doctor came in and he was like, "We're probably gonna do forceps but it might even be an c-section." He was even broken a few times, but that didn't scare me. So I was planning in my mind that you would have to have one.
Brownlee was finally taken to the operating table for a c section after her mother and boyfriend helped her overcome her fear of anesthesia. She said that although I initially didn't feel much, I felt some tugging when they pulled the baby out. "Then, about five to ten minutes later, I heard him crying. Then I started to cry, it was so surreal that I could believe I had my baby. It was surreal."
Although the birth of her son was difficult, Sophia Grace described the moment she saw her son for the first time as "the best thing ever" even though it was brief.
She observed, "He was taken away immediately he was born, in order to be examined." He was taken away as soon as he was born, so I wasn't able to hold him immediately.
Brownlee exclaimed, "Honestly, it was an amazing experience, because I got the chance to meet my baby, which I had carried for a very, long time." It was crazy.
