The "Burlesque' star said, "I tried to avoid playing the role. It was crazy because I had a job."

Stanley Tucci was candid in revealing which iconic roles he would not play again, if he had the chance.

The 62-year old actor said to Entertainment Tonight that he would never play George Harvey in "The Lovely Bones" again, because it was terrible. He made this statement at the Premiere of his Prime Video Series "Citadel."

"It was a difficult experience, even though it's a great movie." "Simply because of the character," he continued.

Tucci portrayed a brutal serial killer, based on Alice Sebold's 2002 novel. George Harvey, the character he played, meets his end when he falls down a steep slope while trying to lure another kid into his car.

Peter Jackson, the director of "The Lovely Bones", initially offered Tucci a role. Tucci admitted that he was reluctant to accept the role due to its sinister character.

"I asked Peter Jackson, why he casts me in this role. Tucci said that he tried to avoid playing the part, which was crazy since he needed a job. "But I asked, 'Why are you interested in me?' He said: "Because I find you funny." I said, "OK." "But I understood what he said."

"I think he meant that I would not be too dramatic. Not that I wasn't serious, but I wouldn’t be overly dramatic. It was that I would throw the script away a little. You have to play someone who is that bad, right?"

He said, "You cannot play into it." Then, you'll know that it's all over. The movie is over. "You just have to play it against it."

Tucci, however, would love to play Nigel again in "The Devil Wears Prada."

"I'd happily play Nigel again in The Devil Wears Prada. He smiled. "It was an amazing experience," he said. "I'd play Paul Child when we did Julie & Julia again. These are wonderful roles to be in."
