The legendary actress and her ex-husband Chris Sarandon walked down the memory lane.

Susan Sarandon looks back on her 1967 wedding with ex-husband Chris Sarandon.

Susan and her ex-husband sat for an episode Chris' podcast cooking by heart where they recalled their "fun" date and described their 12-year relationship.

Susan, then 20 years old, said, "I want to live with you. You can't do this unless you're married. That was back in the Middle Ages at a Catholic College."

She said that her parents, both now aged 76 and an actress, loved Chris, and they were for the marriage, until her mother who was "always" pregnant, became pregnant again. Susan, 76, said that her mother (who died in 2020) never explained why she opposed the union. She believes it was because of embarrassment over being 44 and pregnant.

Both her father and mother ended up attending, her mother wearing black to their 1967 nuptials.

She said, "She wore black raincoat, and sat in the back of church for about 10 minutes."

Susan went on to say, "None of my siblings were able to come." "It was only my brother who came, and I was the one who made him come. Luckily, he hooked up with a bridesmaid, so we had a successful trip."

After the ceremony at the church, the couple held a pot-luck reception in an equity theater in Washington D.C.

Chris recalled that "everyone brought their liquor and their food." We had a wonderful time. It was wonderful, wonderful.

Chris and the Oscar winning actress who were married between 1967 and 1979 don't share any children, but they both have three other children.

Susan shares her life with Eva Amurri (38), a 38-year-old actress who she shares with Italian Director Franco Amurri. She also has two children with Tim Robbins – director Jack Henry Robbins (34) and actor/musician Miles Robbins (31).

Chris has two daughters, one son, and a stepson with his ex-wife Lisa Ann Cooper. He also shares a son and daughter with actress and singer Joanna Gleason. Next year, Chris and Tony-winner Joanna Gleason will celebrate 30 years together.

Susan is always hopeful of another meaningful relationship. She told People that in 2021 she "didn't know" about a romantic relationship. This window may be closed, but I am still hopeful - but not desperate.
