"Grouches gonna grouch"

Oscar the Grouch may have found a friend in Brett Goldstein who is as disgruntled and cranky as he is in Oscar the Grouch.

This week, America's longest-running children's TV show "Sesame Street", teased that the actor from "Ted Lasso," would be appearing on the show via Twitter. The clip features him with Oscar in a fictional New York neighborhood.

Goldstein plays the charming, but irresponsible Roy Kent on "Ted Lasso," where he is also a writer. The 41-year old appeared beside Oscar the Grouch in the clip and groaned at Big Bird, who said it was "a beautiful morning."

This is a match made in... well, trash cans. We wouldn't want it any other! Check out the hilarious video below.

The show's Twitter account captioned the clip as "Grouches gonna grouch Sesame street," "Thanks for visiting our neighborhood @BrettGoldstein! We love you!"

Goldstein posted a picture to his Instagram to celebrate his appearance on the legendary program.

He shared a series of images to show his excitement about being part of the show. Brett shared a photo with Oscar of him in a nearby trash can, a selfie and Cookie Monster with Cookie Monster, and separate images with Bert and Ernie of him hugging Big Bird.

He also included a photo of the entire cast of "Sesame street" as well as a themed marker to his dressing room.

He began his caption with "Brett," which was a question about how to show the best day in your life using only ..." photos. "I found my way to Sesame Street. All you have to do to find out is sing the song. It was beyond what I could have ever imagined."

"Everyone was so kind, funny, brilliant, friendly and kind. I was able to meet all of the residents, except Snuffleupagus, who was asleep (although I did see him sleeping, and he snores less often than you might think)," Goldstein laughed.

As he left the neighborhood, the English actor expressed his gratitude. Elmo, Grover, Big Bird, Oscar and Cookie Monster are special thanks. Sorry if that scared you.

Goldstein didn't announce the air date for the episode with his appearance, but he did confirm that it would air later in the year.
