According to Scout Productions the new series will "show the Chrisley Family as they are truly -- just as dynamically funny and naturally entertaining as ever, without shying away authentic drama or grit which makes them as relatable as before."
The Chrisleys will be returning to reality television.
Scout Productions announced on Monday that it is developing a series featuring the Chrisley Family following the 10 seasons Chrisley knows best. The new series follows the "pivotal chapter" of Chase, Savannah, Grayson, Chloe, and "Nanny Faye" Chrisley, as their family patriarch, Todd and matriarch, Julie Chrisley serve prison time for bank fraud and taxes evasion.
According to a Scout Productions release, "the upcoming series, which has yet to be titled, will show the Chrisleys as they are -- as dynamically funny and entertaining as ever but without shying away authentic drama or grit, making them as relatable as always."
This next family iteration marks the continuation of the story of the Chrisley family after their historic run on reality TV juggernaut Chrisley knows best.
Savannah, a 26-year-old woman, said in the press release that "it was time to tell our story, and we could not have chosen a better partner in Scout Productions."
She continued by saying, "We are so happy to be returning."
Rob Eric, Chief Creative Officer at Scout Productions also spoke of the new series. He said, "Collaborating on the Chrisley Family, who are reality royalty and their eagerly anticipated return to television is beyond exciting." The Chrisley family is ready to bring back their quirk and heart to their fans, and we are looking forward to their story.
Chrisley Knows best ran on USA for 10 seasons. The series, which focused on Todd and Julie and their family, premiered first in 2014. It spawned a spin-off series, 'Growing Up Chrisley which followed Savannah, 27, and Chase, 28. After Todd and Julie's prison sentences, both shows were cancelled. Chrisley Knows Best's final episode aired in March.
Todd received a sentence of 12 years in jail, and Julie seven. The couple was sentenced to prison on January 17, after being found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud.
Todd, 54, serves his sentence in a Florida jail, while Julie, 50 is in lockdown in Kentucky. After their release, the couple will be required to complete 16 months probation.
Savannah revealed in February that the Chrisley family was developing a new reality series.
In an episode of her Unlocked Podcast, she stated that the project would "touch on where are we today, mom and dad being gone, how do we cope with it, or how we get through," according to People.
Savannah continued, "I feel that there is a sense of humor in it too because we are all stepping up to ensure they get what they need, whether they be emotionally, mentally, physically or all three, and I think this also applies to the two children."
Savannah shared later that the show will be "heartwarming," "break your heart," and "you'll have a good laugh."
