"She drops these bombshells every time she wants to increase ratings for the Red Table or sell books," said Navarro of The View.
Ana Navarro, of The Viewis skeptical of the new revelations about Jada's relationship to husband Will Smith.
On a recent The View, Navarro accused Jada that she was trying to boost sales of her new book Worthy by revealing before its release that Will and Jada had been separated for 7 years.
"Listen, she seems to be in a relationship with the bank account," said Navarro during Wednesday's episode.
She said that she dropped these bombshells every time she needed to increase the rating of the red table or sell books.
"I find that unseemly." "Be careful of anyone who pretends to be in a perfect relationship," said Navarro.
Navarro’s cohosts did not agree with her. Joy Behar said that it was "smart", while Sunny Hostin defended her.
She retorted, "It is a memoir and in it she says that they have been apart for that entire time." "I think that it is a brave act. It's brave of you to do that. I don't think it's about money. She has plenty."
Jada pinkett Smith shuts down open marriage rumors, says she and Will are'still figuring out' their relationship
Navarro also said earlier in the episode that she felt like she knew too much about the marriage of the celebrity couple.
Why do I know so many details about the marriage of these people? She had said.
"I feel as if I know more about the marriage of their spouse than I do about mine. I don't have to know this. You know what? You know what? I want to watch reruns The Fresh Prince of Bel-Airand Bad Boys. "Just get this out of my mind."
This conversation follows Jada's shocking announcement earlier this week that she and Will had been separated for 7 years. Jada told Hoda K. Kotb of TODAY that they weren't together romantically when the Oscars were held... and are still not now.
"Why it broke up... That -- that's many things... We were exhausted by the time we reached 2016, and we had tried everything. Jada said, "I think we both were still kind of stuck in our fantasies of what the other person was supposed to be." "I promised that we would never divorce. We will get through...whatever. "I just haven't broken that promise."
She added that the couple are "still working it out," and they have "done some heavy-duty work" together. Finally, she concluded: "We've got a deep love for one another and we will figure out how to make that look for us."
Jada's memoir Worthy hits shelves on October 17, 2023.
