They can misappropriate your work, Batman, in a cultural way, or however you like to describe it.

Tim Burton opens up about Superman Lives - his abandoned superhero film starring Nicolas Cage - and his thoughts on Michael Keaton's and Cage’s cameos as The Flash.

Burton said in an Interview with the British Film Institute , "No, I do not have regrets." "I'll say this: When you work for so long on a film and it does not happen, it will affect you the rest of your lifetime."

He continued, "Because each thing is a journey that you are not familiar with, and it was not there yet." "But it is one of those experiences which never leave you, even a little."

After the success of Burton's 1989 Batmanfranchise, Burton was tasked with creating a new superhero franchise. But after nearly two years of pre-production the project was scrapped.

Cage went on, however, to make a brief cameo in The Flash 2023, which starred Ezra Miller as the title character. Keaton made a brief cameo in the movie as Batman.

Burton compared the use of AI in these cameos with using it on films that have already been released.

Burton said, "But it also goes into another AI issue. This is why I feel I'm done with the studio." They can misappropriate your work, Batman, or whatever.

"Even if you are a slave to Disney or Warner Brothers they can do what they want." In my later years, I am in a quiet revolt against this.

Burton spoke to The Independent about AI versions of Disney character in his classic animation style.

Burton said, "I cannot describe the feeling that it gives me." "It reminded me when other cultures said, 'Don’t take my photo because it takes away your soul'."

The director said, "What it does it sucking something from you." It takes something out of your soul or psyche. That is disturbing, especially when it's about you.

It's like having a robot take your humanity, soul.
