Burton said that the movie was like "going back to my roots" in terms of why he liked making films.

Tim Burton revealed that Beetlejuice 2 had only two days of filming left before the SAG-AFTRA Strike started and closed productions.

In a interview with The Independent , Burton stated that he felt "grateful" for what he had.

Burton said, "It was literally a day-and-a-half." "We know exactly what to do." "It is almost done."

Michael Keaton will reprise his role as the classic Beetlejuice. Winona, Catherine O'Hara, Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux, who are all newcomers to Beetlejuice's cast, will also be reprising their roles.

Burton said he enjoyed making Beetlejuice 2. "I stripped everything back and went back to basics, working with actors and puppets and good people. It was like going back to the basics of why I enjoyed making movies.

Keaton who plays the title role also spoke highly about making the film.

In an interview with Empire, the actor said that Beetlejuice was the most fun he could have while working. It's great, it's fun. You know what that is? "We're making it just like the first film."

Keaton continued, "It must be done exactly the same way as we did it the first time." "Making things up, making stuff, improvising, and riffing but literally hand-made stuff, like people building and creating something. F---in' great."

It's the most enjoyable I've ever had while working on a film in, I don't know how long.

Beetlejuice II will be released in theaters on the 6th of September 2024.
