Prince William has been described as both an heir to a throne, and a fixture in tabloids. There are many stories that claim to have inside knowledge of Prince William's life. The top rumor in 2021 was that he had ordered Meghan markle to cease wearing Princess Diana jewelry. Here's the story.

Watch a Gold Cartier Tank Watch

Woman's Day showed William's fury at Markle's wearing of one his mother's watches. Markle was seen wearing a Cartier gold tank watch that is widely believed to be Diana's. According to a source, Meghan was wearing a Cartier tank watch in gold that belonged to Diana. William gave it to Harry because he wanted it to be handed to someone who would complete their family's generation, and not tear it apart.

According to the story, Harry had traded another piece of jewelry to his brother in exchange for the watch. This whole story is bogus because the watch in question was not owned by Diana. Marie Claire clarified that Markle was honoring Diana but wasn't wearing her actual jewelry. Gossip Cop rebutted the story, as it was now non-issue.

Watches are a lot more expensive

This was not the first tabloid to publish a story about the watch. In 2020, Woman's Day reported that Markle and William were fighting over the watch. Markle purchased the watch as a gift for herself to celebrate the third season Suits. It's a watch that Markle bought before her relationship with Harry and is clearly important to her.

This is just one example of how tabloids hate Markle. It's clear that she was wearing her watch, which prompted multiple venomous attacks invoking Diana. We don't know much about William and Markle, but we can be sure that he isn't telling her to stop wearing her jewelry.

Other William Stories

There are usually two reasons William appears in tabloids. Either he is fighting Prince Charles or he is the new king of England. William and Charles are not as close now as they used to be, but that doesn't mean they are fighting over watches. He may not be the king yet, and could have to wait for decades before he can claim the crown.
