Elon Musk’s announcement of a new name and logo was met with a lot of response, as "Twitter X", and not because users love it, became incredibly popular.
Twitter is changing and Twitter users don't like it. Elon Musk has announced that his social network platform will go "X" in the same way Facebook became Meta.
He's already changed the name of his company to X Corp., but now he wants to bring Twitter X to the forefront.
Musk teased that we would soon be saying goodbye to twitter and all its birds. Or will we start calling them exes? "X's?" Musk confirmed that they will be called Xs in response to a question from a fan, but are people going to really call them that way?
He then followed up with another Tweet saying that if a good enough X Logo is posted, we will make it go live worldwide tomorrow.
Musk is not new to the use of "X" as a brand. His SpaceX has embraced it and he launched x.com, an online bank. He said the new Twitter would run on that domain. He teased earlier the idea of X as an "everything" app, as noted by
When he became CEO, he was able resist the temptation to squeeze the letter into Tesla. Xesla? TeslaX? Texla? He did, however, make a Model X for the auto manufacturer.
Musk hinted earlier at the apparent upcoming changes with a video clip he posted Saturday night. It showed a dramatic "X". It is not clear if he likes this design or if it's just an example. Since then, he has pinned the tweet at the top of his Facebook page.
Musk may not like the iconic logo of Tesla, but website is in love with it. According to Reuters it's "our most recognizable assets," and "that's the reason we're so protected of it."
The platform users were quick to mock the change. They made it so funny that "New Coke", a trending topic, was even created! These are some of the funniest, most unexpected and hilarious responses.
