Madonna wanted to be Mrs. Vanilla Ice.

The 55-year old "Ice Ice Baby", rapper, spoke out about their turbulent relationship in the 1990s. He proposed to her very early on.

"I was just like, "What?! He said, as he recounted the sequence of events. "I thought the guy was supposed [to get down on one knee ],'". What do you mean? Wait a minute. This is way too fast. This is too fast for me.

"The more I think about, the more crazy it was," said the "Cool as Ice” artist.

Madonna and Ice, 64, first met at one of his concerts in New York City in 1991. He recalled seeing the "Like a Virgin” singer "dancing her arse off" in the crowd. While he was happy to see her enjoy his music, he found her star power "intimidating."

Winkle was only 20 years old at the time, Madonna was 30.

He said, "I recall her coming back to the dressing area and saying hello to me. She kind of gave me the sexy eye look and I was like, 'I must have been way, way wrong on that.' They set up a date at a steakhouse after they discovered her true interest.

Ice stated that she was dating one of the biggest stars of the 1990s. And I didn’t know what was happening... My entire life is a snowglobe. Is Justin Bieber crazy? You don't know what I went through, holy moly... My snowglobe got shaken up.

Although it would be hard to see, the rapper stated that the couple had a "normal" relationship.

"If you remove the celebrity factor, you will have two people who have to deal with each other." He explained that it was just her and him, and that at that point, it was no different from any normal relationship."

Madonna's infamous 1992 erotic coffee-table book "Sex" was released. Ice decided it was better for them to separate -- the book contained explicit photos of Madonna, apparently without his consent.

"I said, "How could you do this to me?" I was shocked. I could have sued her. I didn't want too. I said, "I don't need this controversy." Let's let it go, and you go your own way, I go my own," he said. "She wasn't happy and was upset."

Although the relationship didn't last, he still called Madonna "great", "a legend" or "one of the most important artists ever".
