In newly released footage from a bodycam, police advise the couple to NOT go on vacation to the Bahamas during their divorce. This was just a few days before she was arrested in the Bahamas after allegedly plotting her husband's murder.
The newly released footage from body cameras shows how law enforcement responded to an altercation at the home of Lindsay Shiver in Thomasville and her estranged ex-husband Robert.
Police released a video of the two arguing in the Bahamas, just days after the argument was captured. Shiver was then arrested on suspicion of plotting to murder Robert.
"We filed for divorce but we live in the same home." You can imagine that it's hell on Earth. Shiver says in the video that he was just super aggressive. "He's been violent before, and I don't want to do that."
Shiver continues, "I woke up this morning. We have travel plans for the day, but he insists that I stay home."
"Are your intentions to just leave or does he have to go with you?" A police officer will ask.
Shiver responds, "Yeah, we are supposed to go with our children."
Robert, her husband, an ex-football player at Auburn University, says, "She's heading to the Bahamas to visit her boyfriend."
The officer says, "I personally don't recommend that you go on vacation together."
Robert replies, "I'm with you."
Shiver, however, disagrees and says, "It is only an hour in the plane." She made it a point of telling officers that she owned the plane.
On July 16, the couple left for the Bahamas. Shiver was arrested less than a week after arriving on the Bahamas. She was accused of planning to murder her husband.
Shiver, 36, a former beauty pageant winner, was released with a $100,000 bond. She must stay in the Bahamas till her next court appearance in October.
Both she and her alleged accomplices, who are also on bail, must wear ankle monitors.
Terrance Bethel (28), and Faron Nnewbold (29), her reported Caribbean lover are also charged.
The local police suspect that the murder plot took place on 16 July. The alleged murder plot was only discovered by law enforcement when they searched Bethel’s phone during an investigation unrelated to the bar break-in in the Bahamas.
According to police, Shiver sent WhatsApp messages containing the words "kill him", along with a picture of her husband.
Robert and Lindsay Shiver have been involved in a bitter divorce. They are each vying for custody of their children. Both want to use their $2.5 million Georgia home.
Robert accused his wife of adultery in the divorce papers, which she denied. Her attorneys claim that "Suddenly [her] husband will not permit wife to use jet or have funds."
