Viral French Manicure Hack Promises The Perfect Mani, Even If You Suck At Doing Your Own Nails

According to my 13-year old self, a French manicure is the definition of elegance and class. It's actually a timeless, chic look that is currently in fashion.

Jeff Pink, founder of Orly, is often credited with inventing the name and design and introducing the French Manicure in the United States in 1975. According to Orly, the name was created when the nail trend was first spotted on Paris runways.

Others claim Max Factor created a very similar look, called "society nails tint", which was popularized in the 1930s.

It doesn't matter what the origin of the look is, it will still cost you extra at the salon. DIY French manicures can also be difficult. A viral hack claims to be able to give you a flawless French manicure. It works, but is it really?

TikTok users have become obsessed with Nails.INC's French Mani Hack Kit, which includes a clear pink and white nail polish as well as a small tool with silicone tips. Simply paint on pink polish and then use the tool to stamp the white polish onto your nails. Easy, right?

To take your nails to the next level, some nail enthusiasts use a silicone tool and gel polish.

It turns out that stamping on the tip a French manicure's nail isn’t a new idea or something that requires a special kit. Other TikTok users have demonstrated the same technique with a simple makeup sponge.

The results show that the silicone stamp is more effective than the porous makeup sponge. It is also easier to clean than a makeup sponge and won't absorb polish as much.

Despite this, social media can make things look so much simpler than in real life. This hack might seem too good to be true if you struggle to apply polish regularly.

The product has received limited initial reviews. It appears that it takes some practice to master the technique. It can be difficult to determine the best nail length for you by adjusting the pressure and angle of the tool. It takes skill and patience to get each nail even.

This is still a lot easier than trying to make a French manicure by yourself.
