After an emotional chat with the host of the late-night show, the two friends cried as they reflected on the song that she had written. They then sang and shared more memories during the final Carpool Karaoke.

The final episode "The Late Late Show With James Corden", which airs this coming week, has been released online in its entirety.

The host, James Corden, was joined once again by Adele - who appeared in the viral segment of 2016 - for a segment on "The Last Late Late Show With James Corden Carpool Karaoke Special", which will air this Thursday both on CBS and Paramount+ before the final episode of his talkshow airs hours later.

The "Skyfall' singer surprised Corden by first showing up at home, waking him with cymbals and then taking him to his job. Corden is usually the one driving, but this time his guest was the one doing all the driving. This clearly scared both of them.

"I am not a great driver." She warned him that she couldn't close her eyes and sing, either. They nearly crashed as they left their driveway.

The two are clearly friends in the video, and she expresses her sadness that Corden plans to bring his family to the UK when his show ends. Corden then admitted that it was difficult to book people for the early days of the show, and Carpool Karaoke in particular.

He said that after getting Mariah and Stevie Wonder on board, it became easier. Adele's 2016 record-breaking performance also convinced others to join in, seeing how many people watched it. He said that Mariah had initially refused to sing in the segment but she eventually agreed during filming.

Corden admitted that he had tried to prank Adele by tricking her into thinking there was a fake polar bear loose during an appearance. Adele became uncomfortable when one of Adele's assistants noticed a hidden camera. Corden calmed her down by calling off the stunt in some throwback footage.

They then became very emotional when she talked about how supportive he and his spouse were during her divorce from her former husband Simon Konecki. She said that she and Corden had spoken for hours at a time when he too was struggling with "work stuff, internet," so she wrote "I Drink Wine." He cried when he recalled how he felt the first time she played him the song.

Adele said that she will probably never be able to achieve the EGOT because she "f---ing hates" musicals. Corden then expressed how much he would miss all the people involved in his talk show.

"I am so sure it is time for us to go back home, because people are getting older, and we miss people, and it's just time," he said, before closing the segment by singing Adele's "Hometown Glory", and shedding more tears.

The final episode of Corden will air at 12:37am ET, Friday April 27.
