The new musical movie is a prequel that highlights Willy Wonka’s early adventures, including the opening of his very first chocolate shop.

Are you ready to go back to the world of pure fantasy?

Warner Bros. hopes for that with the new Wonka film, a Willy Wonka-prequel starring Timothee Chaalmet as the title character.

This new musical, unlike the Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder in 1971 or Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp with Johnny Depp's 2005, will focus on Wonka’s adventures before he was the head of a confectionery conglomerate and demonstrate his attempt to open up his first chocolate shop.

The film also stars Hugh Grant, who will portray a 20-inch Oompa-Loompa, Olivia Colman and Rowan Atkinson. Keegan-Michael Key is also in the cast, as well as Matt Lucas, Natasha Rothwell, Sally Hawkins, and Keegan-Michael Key.

In an interview with eW director Paul King explained that he wanted his film to stand out from the others.

He said, "I didn't wanna reinvent these things because it felt like the '71 film had created these iconic and enduring looks." "I wanted this film to be like a companion to that movie. Imagine those people 25 years ago. That was my initial process. He would eventually grow into this person and become that factory."

He added: "I love the concept of telling a tale where Willy Wonka isn't just a magical, admirable character, but where he is the emotional core of the film."

King noted that Chalamet had "mighty large shoes to fill" in his role, before praising the performance of the film. He continued, "He is a brilliant actor who can express really deep emotions in the context of family movies." He's also extraordinary at singing and dancing. He has the voice of an Angel and the toes... I don't even know what toes. I can't get enough of it. "I think it's going to blow people away."

Wonka is coming to theaters on December 15th.
