Oscar-winning actress Portman and her late-night host donned hilarious costumes, wigs, and accessories to reenact scenes from some of Portman's best known films, such as "Star Wars," Thor," and "Black Swan."
Natalie Portman takes a trip down memory lane in the most chaotic manner possible.
The actress took part in a popular segment of Corden’s "The Late Late Show with James Corden" on Tuesday. In this segment, stars perform their film careers or their famous roles in a very short time frame. Corden is there to help! Portman's version did not disappoint.
Corden's departure from the late-night show is Friday. It was only right that Corden chose an Oscar winner who has had a long acting career and played roles in many different genres.
Portman, 44, wore wigs, costumes and other accessories to reenact Portman's most famous films. These ranged from blockbusters such as "Star Wars," Thor" and Annihilation, to critically acclaimed films like "Jackie", "Garden State" or "Black Swan," and romance films, such as "Paris, je t'aime," No Strings Attached," and "New York, I Love You."
They even recreated scenes and said popular lines from Portman's films.
The two actors recreated the hilarious moment when Portman's Padme Amidala realized that Corden, as Anakin Skywalker, had officially switched to the darkside.
Corden was wearing a cape and a blonde wig. Portman told Corden: "Anakin you are breaking my heart." "You are going on a path that I cannot follow." "I love you!"
"Liar!" Corden replied. "You're with Obi Wan." Corden replied. You brought him to me to kill me!" He then faked choking Portman who grabbed at her throat yelling "Stop!" Stop!"
The audience of "The Late Late Show", laughed.
Around the midway point, Corden admitted that he had not seen the film. Portman clarified that the film is not the National Women's Soccer League (of which she is a part-owner). Portman then promoted the three-part HBO documentary "Angel City", which tells about the team's origin story.
Portman, who was promoting a docuseries at the time of her interview with Corden opened up about it.
The show is about starting a new team. She said, "I mean, I think we just had to figure out, like, how to build a team from scratch." "I saw my son watch the Women's World Cup in the same fervent fanaticism that he showed for the Men's World Cup. "Whoa! This is a revolution!" I thought. If girls can be looked up to in the same manner as male athletes. We started a new team, and the documentary covers topics like "How do you create a team which didn't exist previously?
She then remembered how she assembled the team. "Well, I've seen how popular these ladies are. Portman said, "They're already huge stars and it's one of the most popular sports in the world." "We had the best players of the world here in the US, but their home teams were not even known to exist. There wasn't even a team in LA, so we thought, "Why don't you start one?" It was a crazy idea that I did not realize until we began. "Whoa, that's actually a really, really difficult task."
Portman said that Angel City FC games are also "sold-out". She said, "It is the best."
