The stars of "Renfield", who have a vast experience in insect-based cuisine, share their experiences.
Nicolas Cage ate actual cockroaches for his cult favorite film.
Cage, aged 59, said in an interview to Yahoo!, "I won't do that again." Enjoy this entertainment about eating insects as part of an art project.
Cage revealed that he ate the food twice because "Vampire's Kiss" was a prank on him by his director.
Cage and Nicholas Hoult were interviewed together for the new film "Renfield". Cage said that this tradition of eating bugs has been passed on to a younger generation of actors.
"I don't like to give advice but [Hoult] took it to a new level because he ate a bug," said the "National Treasures" star.
Hoult replied, "I think the cockroach is more dangerous than a potato bug." "The cockroaches that I got to eat were caramel."
"Oh, but I'm terrified that he ate an actual potato bug. So I ate some cockroaches. I won't do it again. Cage added, "I'm sorry that I did anything at all."
Hoult said that he also ate crickets, which he described as "quite tasty" because they were covered in flavors. But the potato bug? Not so tasty.
Hoult added, "The potato bug tasted like it was still in the bug.
Cage got an idea from all this bug talk about a cure to world hunger.
Cage thought, "If you could overcome your fear of eating insects, you could end world hunger." "High protein and no fat are everywhere. Excellent nutrients, in abundance, they're all there. Why not? But nope. "Not gonna happen.
"Renfield", a new movie, is now playing in cinemas.
