Woman Accused of Aiding In Murder of Boy Found Dead In Suitcase Admitted Dumping Body: Police

The mother of the boy, who believed that there was a "demonic power" within her son, is still on the run.

The murder of Cairo Jordan, 5-year-old, has been reopened. He was found inside a suitcase in Sellersburg, Indiana, earlier this year.

After being apprehended in October by police, one of two women charged in the death of the child appeared in court this week. Dawn Coleman (pictured at the top) -- a friend and babysitter of Dejaune Ludie Anderson, was initially charged with neglect of a dependent leading to death and obstruction. However, prosecutors added an aiding murder charge.

She pleaded not guilty, and she allegedly felt the tears well up in her eyes as her possible sentences of more than 100 years imprisonment were read aloud. Her bond was set at $5million.

According to a police affidavit - via WHAS11 - Coleman claimed that she entered a bedroom in April and found Anderson, who was lying on top of Cairo's head, in her bed. She allegedly claimed that Anderson was in her bedroom and said "It was done" to police, adding that trash bags were also in her room.

According to police, she also said that the two women put the boy into a suitcase before she left it in the woods.

A local mushroom hunter found the body in April off a dead-end Indiana road. However, police did not have any leads on the identity of the boy or the location of the suspect. According to the Indiana State Police (ISP), there were no relatives, witnesses, or acquaintances who came forward to help find the child's identity. Tips were also unsuccessful.

Police said that even the autopsy had "little to no information" about the investigation. The cause of death was "electrolyte insufficiency," which is likely due to a viral gastroenteritis or dehydration. For six more months, he was not identified.

Anderson and Coleman's fingerprints were discovered on the black plastic bags that the boy's body was in. Anderson's cell phone was also pinged in the exact same spot. A car was also seen driving up the road from where the body was found. Coleman's Facebook photos also showed Anderson with a "Welcome To Las Vegas" bag that was identical to the one Cairo was found in.

ABC reports that the probable cause affidavit also contained Anderson's April Facebook posts, which were allegedly taken after her release from prison on a shoplifting case. She allegedly wrote in them that she "just got out of jail mission" as well as "Yes, had to do some healing, killing."

According to NBC, she also mentioned an exorcism of her son and the use of her blood in a ritual involving him. She also spoke of "a very powerful demonic force within my son" in February.

She wrote in April, just days before his body was discovered, "I have survived all the death attacks by my 5-year-old during the five years that he has lived. Through our blood, I was able to reduce his power. His real name is Michael and he's 100 years old. I need your assistance.

Anderson is being held on suspicion of neglecting a dependent leading to death, obstruction of justice, and murder.

Anderson was last seen in Echo Park (Los Angeles), but she has recently visited San Francisco, San Diego and Las Vegas, as well as Houston, Texas. Anderson has not been found in Los Angeles.

Indiana State Police has asked anyone with information about Anderson to contact their local police department.
