Your Sun sign is what you might think of when you think about your Zodiac sign. Astrology is often our first contact with it.
Our sun signs' traits are what we look at, and they either enforce or dissuade us from trusting the Zodiac. What if you have been wrongly interpreting your sun sign?
Your Zodiac profile includes more than your Sun sign. There are also Ascendant (rising), Moon, and Stellar signs. You must look at the position of every celestial body in the sky to get the best reading.
The Basics of the Natal Chart
A natal chart shows you the sky at the precise time and location of your birth. Your Sun sign is the constellation that is closest to the Sun in Earth's view at the time you were born.
A constellation could also be in line with your Moon sign: it was your Moon sign. Different planets aligned with star formations will determine whether your Venus is in Libra or Capricorn. Your Ascendant, or rising sign, is the constellation that appears just above the horizon.
Each celestial body has its own unique influence on us. For example, the Sun controls our whole being, including our ego, vitality, and life force. On the other hand, the Moon governs our innermost feelings, or "shadow" selves.
Your sky map is a link between your life-long horoscope and your personality. Each element is unique because they all combine to make you.
How to Read Your Horoscope
A natal chart is circular, and it is divided into 12 equal sections called "houses". Each house governs a different part of your life. Some aspects of life are personal, such as relationships and self-esteem. Some are more abstract: travel, philosophy, death.
Your Ascendant is a marker that marks the beginning of your chart. Your rising sign will be the first to ascend, and then it will move counterclockwise. Your 1st house is Leo if your rising sign is Leo. Libra would be in your third house and Virgo in your second.
For the most personal horoscope you can read, it's not your Sun sign. The Ascendant is the beginning of your natal chart and the beginning of yourself. This sign is located on the far east horizon at the time you were born. Many believe you should read your rising sign while looking at your horoscope. This is because your Ascendant represents you (including your personality and first impressions).
Take them All Together
Even reading the Ascendant Horoscope is only a small part of the story. Your complex nature is influenced by many external and internal factors. These influences make up the most intimate parts of your personality.
If you want to get a precise reading, then you must read the entire thing. Your Ascendant Horoscope will provide guidance in areas that are important to you: your ego, life force and purpose. Your Moon horoscope, on the other hand, shines light on your emotional subconscious.
You can look at all of your Houses to be more precise. Locate the House that influences you, determine its constellation, then read your horoscope.
Your Sun sign is the final link. The horoscope of your Sun sign relates to the overall picture as well as the long-term.
Once you can blend all your natal elements into one cohesive picture, you will really begin to understand what the universe has for you.
