Earthlings, buckle up! The cosmos is preparing for chaos as we approach the new year. We will retreat to our familiar comfort zones to heal our wounds from communication mishaps. Some older than others. You will feel the vibrating energy of a brand new year.

This energy is also known to fade over time. The feelings of anxiety and unrest will also diminish. As we gain clarity and direction, the path ahead of us will be less hazy and overgrown.

Although every person will experience the alignments of the stars' differently depending on their natal chart and other factors, there are some common celestial events that will affect all. These are some of January's most memorable moments.

The December-January Transition

Mercury retrogrades on the last day in December to bring forth the chaotic energy it is known for. The effects of retrogrades on inner planets are always felt more strongly. Mercury is responsible for communication, intelligence, and reasoning so its retrograde can have a significant impact on almost every aspect of our lives.

Avoid making major commitments or decisions. You might make a mistake by combining the new year's excitement with interpersonal conflict. It is important to communicate clearly and ask questions. This is not the right time to misinterpret.

Full Moon January 6th, Under Cancer

The new year's first full moon promises to be powerful. Cancer is the Moon’s ruling sign. The celestial bodies and the constellations feed each other's energy when they align. Expect intense emotions and urgent feelings, but don't let them overwhelm you.

This full Moon will also oppose Mercury retrograde and the Sun in Cancer's 4th House of Home & Family. The stars encourage us to take care of any emotional obligations that we have. Be close to your friends and family, and don't let anyone with bad intentions see your dirty laundry.

Three planetary directional shifts

While the first half might be more chaotic than usual due to Mercury retrograde, the second half seems much calmer. Mars will be directly under Gemini on 12th. This will ignite our motivational fires and restore our self-advocate voice. Mercury will follow closely on the 18th.

Uranus then brings up the rear when it passes directly under Taurus on 22nd. This faraway blue planet has been in retrograde since August. It forces us to reevaluate our values and think differently. We can now apply our internal efforts to the outside world as it becomes direct. Be careful, Uranus has always got a wildcard in his sleeve.

The Age Of Aquarius

Capricorn season will be replaced by an Aquarian age on the 20th. However, the Sun will still remain at the cusp between the two signs for several more days during this transition. The transition looks significant as the Sun and the new Moon enter Aquarius simultaneously.

New moons are a sign that our bodies and spirits need to take a break, recharge and observe. The ego-driven Sun, despite the Moon's darkest hour, will bring light to the world in the form mental clarity, better decision-making and hyper-creativity. The end of January is a time to blend emotion and ego, not fight one another.

Lovesick Fish out of Water?

Neptune and Venus are the only planets in Pisces. This celestial alignment could be either heartwarmingly romantic, or devastationing. Venus will be influenced by Pisces' romantic, sentimental spirit.

Neptune, however, is also known as the Master of Illusion. It can make us feel as if we are wearing rose-colored glasses when we are under its influence. It might appear that everything is perfect. To ensure clear vision, you need to adjust your specs every now and again.
