Elon Musk has his fans, but he also has many detractors – for multiple good reasons.

With a net worth of well over $200 billion, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is one of the world's most vocal super-rich individuals. Many of the world's most wealthy people work to keep a low profile, limiting their exposure to the press and broader public. Not Elon.

Elon Musk instead does the very opposite, using his social media profiles and public appearances to speak directly to the world, sometimes with obnoxious -- if not disastrous -- results.

There are more than a few examples of Elon Musk's opinions and actions causing consternation around the world. Presented all together, this is the shady side of Elon Musk.
