The world of comedy mourned yet another loss when it was announced that celebrated comedian Gilbert Gottfried had passed away. Known for his intentionally grating voice and willingness to push the boundaries of good taste, Gottfried was both loved and hated for his unique style. Whether he was roasting colleagues or adding silliness to movies like “Aladdin” and “Beverly Hills Cop II,” fans could always count on the comedian to bring something special to his performances.

With the continued attention being paid to the infamous Slap that occurred at the 2022 Academy Awards, it should come as no surprise that Gottfried made his feelings about Will Smith’s Oscars slap clear. In usual fashion, they were witty and hilarious; a fitting last laugh before Gottfried’s untimely death.
