A life in professional athletics can bring riches and glory, but it can leave lasting scars on the bodies of the most successful. Especially in high impact sports like professional football and wrestling, the damage done to athletes bodies can be catastrophic, particularly when trauma is repeatedly delivered to the brain. In this scenario, athletes sometimes suffer CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy. This diagnosis often comes after reports of personality changes, violent behavior, personality changes, paranoia, and sometimes death. You may be surprised that your favorite player who died did so because of this disease. This is the chilling connection between all these athletes that died young.
