Top Gun (1986) ★ Then and Now 2023 || Kelly McGillis [How They Changed]
🔸Top Gun is a classic 1980s action drama film directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise as Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a talented but reckless Navy pilot who is sent to the prestigious Fighter Weapons School at the Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California, where he must compete against other top pilots to become the best of the best. During his training, Maverick encounters fierce competition, as well as a romantic interest in his civilian instructor, Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood (played by Kelly McGillis). He also struggles with the death of his father, a fellow pilot, and must confront his own limitations and ego in order to succeed. The film features thrilling aerial dogfight scenes and a memorable soundtrack that includes the hit song "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin. Top Gun was a commercial and critical success upon its release, and remains a beloved classic to this day.
