These celeb fathers, from Clint Eastwood to Arnold Schwarzenegger, later discovered they sired surprise children

The world is full of surprises, and some can change your life. Some famous parents have been surprised to learn that their family was larger than they had thought.

It can be shocking to discover that you have a child whom you didn't even know existed. But, given the circumstances, all of these celebrities welcomed their new members into their families with open arms.

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger

Mildred Baena, the housekeeper of Arnold Schwarzenegger's family, had an affair in 1997. Mildred became pregnant and gave birth to Arnold's child, Joseph. Arnold didn't know that the child was his son, even though Mildred had worked for him. Arnold thought that Joseph's dad was Mildred at the time.

Arnold saidit was only when Joseph "started to look like me" that he "kinda got it," and "put everything together." He says that when he learned the truth, he began to provide financial support for Joseph and Mildred. Arnold told his wife Maria Shriver about the affair during a couples therapy session many years later. The affair wasn't made public until Arnold was no longer the governor of California, and the couple divorced. Joseph and Arnold have become close.

2. Karamo Brown

Karamo Brown, the "Queer eye" star, didn't discover he was father until Jason was 10 years old. Karamo Brown came out as gay at 16 but the girl he dated a year earlier was pregnant. She didn't let him know. Karamo got custody of his child a decade after she first contacted him about child support.

"I came out as a gay man at the age of 16 and I am proud to be one." When I was 15, my last girlfriend at high school became pregnant but didn't tell me. He shared that "She moved away and I never had any contact with her again."

3. Gavin Rossdale

In 2004, Gavin Rossdale's goddaughter Daisy Lowe was revealed to be his father. Daisy Lowe believed her mother Pearl Lowe’s ex-boyfriend Bronner Handwerger was her father when she was a child. However, Daisy began to doubt this belief after neither her parents had the same O-type of blood. Gavin took a paternity check and discovered he was Daisy's biological father. Although their relationship began rocky, the two now have a strong bond.

The funny thing is that the moment I discovered that he was my father, I thought, "Oh, this makes perfect logic." We have many frightening similarities and think the same. Daisy told the " that Gaby Roslin " podcast, "I felt no connection with this guy, which I had thought was my father.

4. Pauly D

Pauly D, star of "Jersey Shore", met Amanda Markert in 2013. During a one-night stand with Amanda Markert, they conceived a child. Pauly did not learn about the baby until she was born. Us Weekly reports that Amanda contacted Pauly shortly after his daughter was born. He then confirmed the baby's identity. Pauly is the proud father of Amabella, his nine-year old daughter.

5. Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris had an affair while he was married to Dianne Holchek, his first wife in the early 80s. The woman was Johanna. Chuck Norris admits that at the time he did not tell Johanna he was married. Unbeknownst of Chuck, Dina, a young girl, was born from the affair. He was unaware of her existence until 1991, when she sent him a letter claiming to be their biological daughter.

Chuck writes in "Against All Odds: My Story" that Dina confirmed that she was my biological father, but I told her that I had married and children and that Dina shouldn't disturb my life. Later, he added that "I didn't require DNA or blood testing." I went up to her and wrapped my arms around. We both began crying. "At that moment, I felt as if she had been my friend all my life."

6. David Jason

David Jason and Jennifer Hill had an affair in 1970 that resulted with his daughter Abi. David Jason didn't learn about Abi until Abi contacted him with the suspicion that he was her father, over 50 years later. David says that while the news came as a shock, he is happy to have gotten to know his daughter.

David told Daily Mail that it was "surprising" to learn that he had a child from many years ago. "However, after settling down with the news, i am thrilled that i am now able get to know Abi, and so we meet when we can. My wife Gill and my daughter Sophie have been supportive and understanding. They have welcomed Abi, her son and their new family into their home.

7. Steven Tyler

Steven Tyler and Bebe Buell had a short relationship in 1976. She became pregnant. Bebe chose not to inform Steven, and when their daughter Liv was born in 1977 the child was told that her father was Todd Rundgren. Liv was about 10 years old when she met Steven. She began to suspect that Steven might be her dad.

"Todd decided that when I was born, I needed a dad so he signed my certificate of birth." He knew there was a possibility that I wasn't his," Liv said to Wonderland. She added that she first met Steven when she was 8.

She went on to say, "I did not know who Aerosmith is. My mom said to me, "Come here, I want to meet someone," and as I watched Todd play, I thought, "Ugh! I don't want to come!" She pointed at this guy who was standing in the bar, and I thought to myself: "Is that Mick Jagger’s son?" He bought me a Shirley Temple... I fell in love with him. I didn't know who he was. Steven started calling us after we met and we would go see him. "He was fresh out of rehab and part of the process is to make amends with my mother after all those years of not being there because I've been a drug addict."

8. Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood is the father of eight children, and he didn't know about them all right away. Clint Eastwood had an affair that led to a pregnancy before he married Maggie Johnson. The woman did not tell Clint that she was pregnant, and Laurie the child was placed up for adoption. It took Clint reportedly decades to learn about Laurie. He didn't announce his daughter publicly, but she has been with him at various events over the years. She attended the Oscars in 2004 with Clint, his mother and her. In 2018, she was at the premiere of 'The Mule'.

9. Dog the Bounty Hunter

Dog the Bounty Hunter had already had 13 children when, according to an article from June 2023, he discovered that he had a 14th child he had only recently found. This son's birthday coincides with the death of his wife Beth Chapman, which gives the day a new meaning to him.

Details are scarce, but he posted on Instagram that "For the past four years, today has been a horrible reminder of one my greatest losses." God restored this day to me when I found out that my son Jon was born on the same day. I only met him recently.

Now, instead of sadness, this day takes on a whole new meaning. He continued by sharing a picture of his son Jon with his wife Jodi. He said he would share more details in his 2024 book Nine lives and Counting.
