Prince William, Kate Middleton portray domestic bliss. But it wasn't always like that. An interesting story has emerged about Prince Charles cursing his son for seeing another woman during his Middleton courtship. Here's what happened.

We have a new royal biography and some interesting stories to share from the shadows of mystery. Brothers & Wives: Inside The Private Lives Of William, Kate, Harry, Meghan by Christopher Andersen is a supposedly intimate look at the relationship between Princess Diana and her children and how it has changed over the past five years. Another interesting story is about palace long before that.

Middleton and William met while they were both at the University of St. Andrews in 2001. They began dating in 2003, but split up in 2006. They were married on April 29, 2011, and are well-known for their famous wedding.

Middleton was a tabloid hot topic because she was dating a prince. William's activities were covered by the media, which continued to link him with his ex-girlfriend Jecca. According to this book, William and Middleton fought over Craig. Middleton and William were unable to leave their ex-friend, which caused them both problems.

Harry steps in

Middleton was unable to reach William so Prince Harry attempted. Andersen wrote that Harry "cautioned him headstrong brother to think about Kate's hurt feelings." William refused to listen and made it a point to see Craig that summer. Charles then decided to be a good-old-fashioned parent.

Craig was on Craig's side when Charles told William: "You can't put her through this, William." It's not fair to Jecca." Given that Charles had left Diana for Camilla Parker Bowes after many years of philandering, Charles was speaking from experience. Charles' words were heard and William ended their love triangle. It is unknown if Charles is hurting Middleton, or if she knew about his Craig-championing.

All is well at the End

William chose to be loyal to Middleton and the rest is history. Ten years after their wedding, she hosted her first official Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey. They have settled into a life that will eventually lead to the throne.

Craig is doing well, for what it's worthwhile. In 2016, she married Jonathan Baillie (a fellow conservationist). William was there, but Middleton was absent. While it is not inherently bad or unusual to be friends with an ex-partner, that doesn't mean Middleton wouldn't want to attend the wedding.
