Big Brother Blowout: Surprising New Head of Household Sets Up Diabolical Backdoor Plan

Big Brother Blowout: Surprising New Head of Household Sets Up Diabolical Backdoor Plan

After Hisam’s tyrannical rule as HOH on Big Brother last week, the Houseguests are faced with a humiliating challenge, an unexpected HOH and a chance to shake up the house.

If you thought Hisam’s condescension was (right) If you thought Hisam's condescension (right?) If you didn't watch after his Big Brother Household Head reign ended, then it is likely that you weren't paying attention. Hisam out power makes it seem like Hisam is still at power.

Hisam, who was ineligible for the competition as the outgoing HOH, felt that it was more open than ever. He has The Professors on his side... or do they?

Hisam, wasn't he the one who told the entire house to vote Reilly out so people could reestablish their relationships and align themselves with the people with whom they wanted to work? The house was divided into two large alliances, The Handful and The Professors.

He hopes that The Professors' alliance will still be rock-solid. He hopes that the alliance is still rock solid, or at least strong enough to have his back if he ever needs it. He's also not afraid to tell them what they need to do. Just look at his immediate instructions for this week's HOH.

It's not always "right?" If it's not the constant "right?" Condescension is the act of blatantly cutting someone off as they answer a query so that he can answer. Hisam doesn't seem to know how to hold a conversation or value the other person's words or thoughts.

He was clearly rubbing the house wrong all week long, but did it do any lasting damage to his gameplay? Reilly was booted out the week after her HOH reign. This house doesn't appreciate power players.

Also, Reilly admitted to Hisam that she was specifically targeting him in the home, so his return of the favor last weekend did make some sense.

This week, the real question is whether those initial alliances still hold strong or if they are being realigned as Hisam suggested. The new HOH will have a big impact on this, since they are the pivot around which the culture in the house revolves.

You're Snotting Your HOH

The HOH competition this week was a variation of one we have seen before. It had to be embarrassing, since it was from the Humiliverse. We got the one shot golf game, with lots of snot all over.

It's a game where everyone is on an equal playing field. Each player takes one shot down a hill filled with obstacles and lands in the slots from 1 to 55. The player with the highest score at the end of one shot is the winner. Anyone can win.

We are so happy to see BB use competitions such as this, in a season that has more age diversity than in previous years. Some of the older players won't be able to compete with Matt, Mecole or Hisam in a physical competition.

It was a combination between strategy and luck. Miss Felicia, who is the oldest in the room, had the best luck. She was so elated with her victory, we haven't seen anyone else in the game get that excited. Frankly, we get it.

The older players are often overlooked and dismissed. She spent a whole week with HIsam, who talked over her and dismissed any of her thoughts. He'd surely show her more respect now that they are in the opposite roles, right?

Nope!

Hisam went up to the castle to speak with the new Queen and continued speaking the same way he did when he used be the King. He cut her off when he asked who she thought she would nominate to tell her who he believes she should nominate. We wanted to throw something at the TV, demanding he respect her.

Felicia is a smart woman, and she knows it. She said so last week. She doesn't require Hisam's approval for anything. Let him think what he wants instead.

It's Backdoor Baby!

Hisam, as it stands now, is the backdoor for the house. Everyone can see that Hisam is a serious competition threat with his back-toback-toback victories. It was also evident to everyone how uncontrollable he is and will continue to be. This is not just Felicia.

Last week, this plan began to take shape. Ironically, Hisam's eviction could be what breaks down old alliance walls, and get people talking, just as Hisam hoped Reilly's eviction of Reilly would.

It was pretty straight forward from here until the end of the episode. Felicia explained her plan to everyone and told her pawns Jag & Cameron about it. They were selected as they could win Veto to save themselves.

Hisam was supposed to be so comfortable, that if he were selected to play he would not go for it. He has been vocal in his desire to stop winning, because the target is so large. He doesn't understand that the target is less about wins than his attitude.

Hisam's biggest challenge will be to keep him unaware during the long wait from this HOH victory until the Veto Meeting, when he would (hopefully), get put on The Block. There is a lot to do between now and then. Cameron and Jag have been nominated and many people know the plan. Can they pull this off?

Matt's Rebound and Oh No Showmance

Matt's prospective showmance just left the home. Reilly's eviction put him in a vulnerable position. He had already acknowledged that she made him feel included and even helped him understand what he missed in the house, as the first deaf Houseguest.

He opened up about his life as a person who is deaf, from growing up and getting into swimming to having trouble keeping up with the conversations at home.

The show has some of the best moments when it opens up about life experiences that many people may not understand. Cirie was deeply moved by his story and admitted that it had opened her eyes in ways she never thought of before. Matt should also be commended for his decision, because it will bring him closer to others.

Although, we're not certain how close is to close. BB has a mixed bag of showmances. We've seen some that somehow made it to the end. They're usually broken up by evictions. Could the season's latest flirtation be the next to end?

Blue's flirting with Jared has been quite blatant, but Jared is also feeling a bit smitten. They are getting closer as time goes by. Mama Ciriie wouldn't be there for that. She has to deal with the damage that Izzy knows about Jared's father, and she cannot take on another showmance!

It's also clear that the house has figured it out. However, it isn't to the extent where anyone is concerned it means they are a voting bloc. It's possible to get there if the process continues.

Houseguest Report Cards

Felicia cannon, 63-year-old real estate agent, is ready to take on the world this week. She could avoid any revenge next week if she uses her backdoor plan to keep the house happy. This is something she's been thinking about since every HOH so far has been targeted. She's still in a great position, we think. [Grade: A]

Cirie (53-year-old nurse) Fields continues to run the house in the background. Every episode will be a marvel and we'll wonder how long she can keep it up. Izzy is still her greatest threat and weakness. She must work constantly to make Izzy feel valued. Izzy is aware that she will only be able to get third place in this group, but she knows she's capable of being dangerous. [Grade: A-]

Izzy Gleicher (32, professional flutist), has a lot of power at the moment, and is also managing a tricky game on her own. She has a lot of power over Cirie and Jared but is also a very emotional player. She can find it taxing, but also a wildcard. She could destroy Cirie and Jared’s game if she uses her power correctly, but she could also ruin her own if she doesn't. [Grade: B]

Jared Fields is doing everything correctly, but some of the younger people are starting to question whether they can trust him. If the house is threatened by his growing showmance, it could become a problem. They don't seem bothered so far. But if this continues, for how long? [Grade: B-]

Matthew Klotz, (27-year-old deaflympics medalist), took the crucial step of establishing new relationships immediately after Reilly left. He is such a nice and genuine person, that he can easily form personal friendships which could benefit his game in the near future. He's a powerhouse in the physical sense, and would make a great ally. We're still waiting to see how his game develops, but we do respect his first moves after Reilly. [Grade: C+]

Cory Wurtenberger (21, college student) is deliberately avoiding revealing his plans and intentions. He's establishing himself as a stealthy floater. He needs to be careful not to play his role too well or floater hunter will come after him. They are lurking in the shadows (they appear eventually each season). [Grade: C+]

Mecole Hayes (30 years old, political consultant), Bowie Jane Ball 45 years old, barrister/DJ & Red Utley 37, sales, are all masterfully navigating the middle of the board, attempting to not disturb the larger players. Will the bigger players view this middle pack of players as potential targets or allies if the house realigns? [Grade: C]

America Lopez (27) (medical receptionist) has failed to rally her troops to save Reilly. Her best option is to stay quiet for a moment and watch how things are rearranged. It's dangerous to hold on to The Handful blindly at this stage, so the group needs to spread out and make new arrangements. Let's find out how open the house is. [Grade: C]

Blue Kim (25" brand strategist, Blue Kim) makes herself known by hanging on Jared. She was also a staunch ally to Reilly, which makes her a bit wild right now when the house resets. If she gets in Jared’s head, Mama C will not be happy. She is also an excellent athlete and player. If she doesn't make some numbers, then she will soon become a target. [Grade: C-]

Jag Bain (25-year-old truck company owner) may be a pawn but could also become a target if Hisam manages to disqualify himself from a backdoor in the next few days. This is not good for Hisam's game, either in the short-term or the long-term. He must expand his relationships to include the middle or older players. [Grade: C-]

Cameron Hardin (34) is up for sale as a pawn. But even more so than Jag, the house might have gotten rid of him next, if Hisam had not made such a mess of himself last weekend. He is charismatic, dangerous and not willing to work with those in power. It's time to put on some Southern charm. [Grade: C-]

Hisam Goueli, 45-year-old geriatric doctor, has no idea of how dangerous his job is. Also, he seems completely unaware of his own uncontrollable tendencies in terms of talking to others. Let's be honest, he is talking to people. He does not have conversations; he gives lectures. Hisam has no social awareness. You would think that a comp monster would be able to handle other people, but Hisam doesn't have a clue. Will he remain that way until backdoored or will he change? [Grade: D]
