The police spotted a crockpot box with the body parts of the victim near the suspect's home. They said she looked "like a child who got their hand caught in the cookie jar".

The Wisconsin jury was shown video of Taylor Schabusiness' arrest on Tuesday, which highlighted her demeanor.

Schabusiness has been charged with first degree intentional homicide and mutilating corpses, as well as third-degree sexual abuse of Shad Thyrion (24 years old), whose severed skull was found by his mother in the basement of her home on February 23, 2022.

Schabusiness' trial started on Monday. He has pleaded guilty to all charges. Thyrion’s mother testified that Taylor had been at her house, in her basement, with her son in the days before his murder. She said she was in a gold van.

A Green Bay officer who was in the room when Schabusiness' arrest was made took to the witness stand on Tuesday. He said he had been sent to the suspect’s apartment to find the van, and found it in the parking area.

In the bodycam video that was shown in court ( below), the man can be seen shining a flashlight into the van, spotting a crock-pot box where authorities would eventually discover pieces of the victim’s legs. They also see what they thought were bloody prints around the van. Then, the interior lights and headlights of the vehicle begin to flash as someone locks or unlocks the vehicle remotely.

"Who did it?" exclaims one of the officers, before Schabusiness is seen leaving her apartment. Schabusiness leaves her apartment and one officer shouts "Who did that?" Police note that she has blood on her hands and immediately place her in handcuffs. In the video, Schabusiness is wearing a baseball cap and sweatshirt. She tells officers that her roommate is home and no one was armed. She is then led to a cruiser.

He also stated that Schabusiness had been taken to a police station where photos were taken of what looked like "smeared" blood on her clothing and hands. He said that her sweatshirt appeared to also have blood on.

He said that Schabusiness "did not" seem "off" to him and "seemed like normal."

A second responding officer then took the witness stand and stated that the suspect appeared to be "in shock or very shocked to see us" as they arrived at the scene. He said, "I compare it to the look of a deer in the headlines or a kid caught with his hand in the cookie-jar."

The second day of the trial has begun.

A woman in Green Bay contacted police in the early morning hours of 23 February 2022 to say that she had found the severed head of her son, aged 25, in a bucket. On Monday, the jury listened to her 911 call.

showed the bodycam footage of the police officers arriving at the house. It also showed the moment that authorities saw the bucket.

According to the criminal complaint Schabusiness admitted that she spent the entire day with the victim, smoking meth. After they arrived at his mother's house, the pair began having sex and included chains.

Authorities claim she admitted to them that she went "crazy" at one point and began strangling her husband with the chain. She said she didn't intend to kill him but continued to choke him because she liked it.

According to the complaint, she said that he started coughing blood and she noticed his skin turning purple. However, since she had "already come this far", she continued. According to the complaint, she asked detectives if they "knew what it felt like to love something that much you would kill it."

The complaint says that Schabusiness told the police they would have fun searching for all the organs while she dismembered her body.

She told authorities that she had originally said all body parts were to be placed in the basement. However, when they asked what she did with her head, she replied she threw it in a bucket, covered it with a blanket and then put it there.
