Bryan Cranston tells his fans that he is not retiring but taking a short break.
The actor of "Breaking Bad", who spoke about his retirement plans in an GQ interview, has retracted that statement.
In an Instagram post he made on Friday, he said: "Some news was released that wasn't completely clear...even to myself." "I wanted to correct the record."
He clarified, "I'm not retiring."
Cranston said, "I'm going to hit the pause for a whole year when I turn 70 in 2026." "I don't know what pausing means, but I'm assuming that it means taking a full year off after my 70th birthday in 2026."
However, the actor's plans did not change much compared to his idyllic trip abroad that he described before.
He continued, "First of all, it'll allow me to spend more time with Robin (my wife of 34 years) than I have in the past 25 years." "Not as the wife of a famous celebrity, but rather as a loving couple who are entering our later years with new goals, experiences and hopes."
Cranston also credits this break with "resetting" his career.
Cranston, who is now 67 years old, wrote: "I have had an incredible ride for more than two decades." "I am so grateful for these opportunities. I am beginning to feel like I have run out of new ideas for how to portray the characters I'm offered. "Exploring a wider range of life experiences will allow me to refresh my soul and prepare myself for any roles that I might be offered in a genuine way."
Cranston said he would also "step off the business hamster-wheel" and read some classics that he had not yet explored. He also expressed his passion for his current work.
He concluded, "I don't take my good fortune lightly." "I am truly blessed and I know it. "I wish you all well... and I'll be seeing you on the road."
