The "Avengers'" actor revealed that "you have to tell yourself a tale, do whatever it takes to survive."
Even Chris Evans can be ghosted, or suffer even worse fates when it comes to dating in this high-stakes digital age.
The 41-year old "Captain America's" star admitted to being jilted and that he had experienced "something worse" than just being put on read.
In an interview with People, he said: "I've felt I've been through something worse." "I'd rather be ghosted, because I can invent any story." You can tell by the gradual decline in texts that the person is ignoring you.
Evans explained that "you have to tell yourself a tale, or do whatever it takes to survive" in order to deal with rejection.
When he won the title of "Sexiest Man Alive", he revealed what he looks for in a romantic partner.
Evans elaborated on the word "confidence". "It's not so much about what you see on the outside as it is your sense of yourself. Knowing and loving yourself, and being comfortable with who you are. It's something you can sense in someone. "I'm not saying that I have it, but I hate myself [laughs] and I fooled all of you."
The actor revealed that he also searches for "vulnerability" and "humility" in relationships.
"I'm not a fan of arguing, raising my voice, or other forms of manipulation. I find declarations of affection to be wonderful; I am a lover of love. "I'm a little bit of a sap," he confessed. I like to be sentimental and cry easily. "A good song or a nice sunset makes my emotions bubble."
Evans, who admits that he hasn't always been a perfect partner, believes that now that he is older and more mature he is a "much" better partner.
You spend a lot time figuring out what was helpful and what wasn't. "We all have habits, baggage or patterns that repeat themselves. I was able to identify what I needed improvement on and what worked," he said.
Recently, the Marvel star was linked to his "Ghosted' co-star Alba Baptista. They have been dating each other for more than a year.
