The man is seen firing six shots according to security footage. Police say that it's remarkable that the dirtbag didn't kill or injure anyone.
Connor Anderson, 30, is currently in jail after he allegedly put a woman in a lock and held her hostage at gunpoint at a Palm Coast bar this week.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Anderson was at Smiles Nite Club Sunday night when he "became upset" about not being able to locate his car keys. According to them, Anderson allegedly left the bar with a firearm in his hand and placed the woman in a lock, holding a gun to her head.
The incident was captured on security footage. It shows someone jumping over the bar to stop the attack. Other patrons ran to help. Authorities claim that the suspect fired the gun six times at several bar patrons as they tried to disarm him.
The footage shows debris flying and bystanders fleeing as the shots go off. Authorities say they were able to "tackle and get the suspect on the ground" before he fled.
Police arrived on the scene to find Anderson in a nearby lot, still carrying the handgun.
The bodycam footage of his arrest shows that he was captured without incident ( below).
He was charged with 6 counts of firing or throwing deadly missiles at him, 3 counts each of aggravated assault battery and using a firearm under the influence of alcohol, and improperly displaying dangerous weapons or firearms.
Anderson is still in jail on $542,000 bond according to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility website.
Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement that "It is remarkable this dirtbag didn't kill or injure anyone during a moment of rage over something so small as his car keys." "Violence and alcohol are never the best options. Guns and alcohol don't mix well." Anderson will have to learn this lesson the hard way while he is in prison at the Green Roof Inn.
Staly added, "I also commend patrons who intervened immediately and called us." "Many lives were saved by putting themselves in danger in this instance."
