George Takei and William Shatner continue their feud after space flight

It seems George Takei has rekindled his rivalry with William Shatner. Takei wasn't too complimentary about Shatner's previous caption after he flew into space in Jeff Bezos Blue Origin capsule. Let's now see what is happening with Takei & Shatner.

Wait...George Takei Calls William Shatner What? What?

Takei was not kind when asked about his former Star Trek star's recent expedition into outer space. Takei said to reporters, "He's boldly going wherever other people have gone before."

Takei's insults weren't over yet. He referred to Shatner as a 90 year-old "guineapig" and then took aim at Shatner’s overall physique.

Takei noted that a 90-year-old man will show more wear and tear than a human being, making him a valuable specimen to study. "He'll be an unfit specimen, even though he's not the most fit specimen at 90 years of age," Takei, a Star Trek actor, said.

Shatner flew in the Blue Origin capsule on Wednesday and reported that he felt a little bit of weightlessness while aboard the spacecraft. Shatner spoke about his experience in a long, difficult-to-understand monologue after the craft landed.

Shatner stated that the flight was "so moving." This was an incredible experience.

The History Between George Takei and William Shatner

In the past, there have been many instances of Takei and Shatner feuding. After a small fire broke out on the set of Star Trek, one of their earliest conflicts was in 1983. Shatner said that he ran in with a gardenhose and started to put out the fire before the firefighters arrived.

Takei didn't remember the events that way. Takei stated that Shatner's use of the garden hose was a publicity stunt and not an attempt to help.

In 1993, Shatner again brought Takei's rocky past to the surface. In Star Trek Memories Shatner describes Takei's unfavorable portrayal. He called him a "loose-cannon" while filming a scene of swordfighting for Star Trek.

Shatner wrote, "I think that some part of [Takei] was upset because he didn't get the chance to run me through." Takei admitted that he did get into some trouble during the sword fighting scene. Takei said that his actions did not bother Shatner, but actor James Doohan, and the assistant director. This feud seems to have just taken its phasers off stun.
