Gilligan's Island was a beloved sitcom with characters everyone remembers and loves long after it ended airing. Unfortunately, only one member of the original cast is still alive today: Tina Louise who played Ginger.

The 87-year-old is still going strong

The actress appeared at The Museum of Modern Art to open Ugo Tognazzi: Tragedies of an Irresponsible Man Retrospective. The 85-year old actress looked stylish in a purple dress with black boots and knee-high boots.

Although Gilligan’s Island has been off the air for more than 50 years, Louise's career continues to be strong. The actress, who is also a grandmother and mother, has continued to appear in movies and shows. After Gilligan's Island was over, Louise starred as Louise in several projects, including The Wrecking Crew and The Stepford Wives. She was most recently seen in the 2019 film Tapestry.

She has also published books, including a memoir. Sunday: a Memoir was published in 1997. It details the first eight years of her acting career. She told Authority Magazine that she had an unusual childhood. "I wrote Sunday, a book about my eight-years of life. I have the beginnings for a script. "I've always wanted a movie of this," she said.

Louise is passionate about getting children interested in reading so it only makes sense that she would also be writing books for children. The book When I Grow up was published in 2007. The book What Does a Bee do? came out in 2009. In 2009, she published When I Grow Up. What Does a Bee Do? was also published in 2007. She has also offered to host events in which she reads aloud for children at her New York City house.

Is She Remorseful for her Time on Gilligan's Island

Many people wonder if Louise has fond memories of her time spent on set of Gilligan’s Island. Many believe she regrets not appearing in the many reunion movies that were made over the years.

She said, "Never true" - she loved her part in the 2020 interview with the New York Post. "Especially after they started writing for me, originally billed as a Marilyn Monroe type of character. My character was written by a different director.

She continued, "We brought a lot joy to people and still do." This show allows you to escape the stress of so many other things. It is now shared by fathers with their children. "I get letters about this all the time."
