Kale was a superfood that came to prominence years ago. This dark leafy green is one of the most nutritious foods, with high levels of vitamins C, A, and K as well as significant amounts of calcium and potassium.

It's not always the most attractive. Some people find the tough, dry texture of the leaves to be irritating, while others find the bitter, strong flavor to be deceiving.

You don't have to eat kale as a garnish on your plate, or you can simply eat too many kale salads. There is another vegetable in the same family that is almost as nutritious and tastes better.

You may be wondering what this miraculous vegetable is. It's cabbage!

Although cabbage isn't the most attractive vegetable and can be a source of boring stews and boring slaws, it can still be delicious if cooked correctly. Let's first look at the nutritional information.

Although cabbage may look like lettuce, it is actually a cruciferous veggie like bok choy and broccoli. Radishes and kale are also good options.

This low-calorie vegetable is rich in nutrition. Although cabbage is not as nutritious as kale (which it is), the difference in nutritional content is negligible.

This is a fun way to make cabbage. It features red cabbage with sweet Granny Smith apples and red onions.

My family makes a wonderful citrus slaw that doesn't need a recipe. Although it's made from scratch, it includes red cabbage, carrots and red onions, as well as olive oil, salt, and lime juice. This slaw can be used as a side dish or added to tacos, as well as on BBQ sandwiches.

You don't have to make slaw, but cabbage can be easily incorporated into many dishes. You can add chopped cabbage to soups, stir-fries, and salads.
