Jazz Jennings discusses Jazz Teaser: 100 Pound Weight Gain and Family Fat Shaming

Jazz Jennings discusses Jazz Teaser: 100 Pound Weight Gain and Family Fat Shaming

"I can't do many things with my body now that I was able to before I gained all of this weight."

Jazz Jennings opens up about her struggle with binge eating disorder.

The reality star shared her story about how she gained 100 pounds and how it has affected her life.

Jazz, 21 years old, said that she was already on her way to Harvard two years ago. However, Jazz was actually suffering from severe mental health problems. Jazz began the clip by referring to her Harvard acceptance. I started binging eating and gained weight. Now, I'm almost 100lbs heavier.

The teaser ended with Jazz struggling to take part in different physical activities. In a voiceover, she said that "having all this extra weight means I can't do as many things with my body as I used to,"

Jazz's first look teased drama between her family and Jazz regarding her diet habits. It also included a glimpse of a scene where Jazz showed what a typical breakfast looks for her.

She said, "Fast food," to a woman who was presumably a professional while being surrounded by a few relatives.

Jeanette, Jazz's mom, said that Jazz falls off the wagon even when she thinks she's doing something right. Jazz shared her thoughts on her family's response to her struggles and said, "I do feel fat-shaming from family." It makes me feel really embarrassed."

Jazz's parents were also shown in the trailer worrying about Jazz going to Harvard despite her health problems.

Jazz was lying in bed when Jeanette told her, "This isn’t going to cutit at Harvard." "I'm not going be here to get your up."

Jazz's father Greg told Jazz in another scene that he didn't think Jazz could go to school.

"As long I get off my lazy arse, then --," Jazz replied. Jeanette interrupted Jeanette, saying that Jazz "keep[s] making empty promise[s]".

Jazz said that she could tell her mother it was different now because it was now or never. Jazz tried to protest. "It's either now or never at the moment!"

"Prove it! You're just talking!" Jeanette retorted as the clip ended.

Jazz shared in an Instagram post this summer that she has a "binge-eating disorder". Jazz shared the above side-by-side pictures of herself on Instagram, revealing that she had gained weight to help her keep track of her health.

She began, "As many of your readers have noticed, I have gained substantial weight over the last few years," she said. "I have binge-eating disorder. This is a condition in which I am not only addicted to food but also eat large amounts of it."

Jazz stated that her "binging" and side effects from her medication caused her to gain nearly 100 pounds in the past two years.

She continued, "I am posting this photo because I feel it's time to address my weight gain" "I'm ready for change; I've been saying that I was ready to turn over new leaves, but now I'm running out.

"I am ready to take initiative and make positive changes in my body and health."

Jazz acknowledged that she has a great team of friends, family, and professionals to help her. However, Jazz stated that she must take initiative.

She wrote, "At the end the day, it is up to me to be the one who is committed towards improving myself." "I believe I have the power to lose weight and I plan on sharing my progress with you all. We love you all and thank you for your understanding of the battle that I am fighting to win.

The 7th season of "I Am Jazz", Season 7, premieres November 30th on TLC.
