She also spoke out about Sharrieff’s "internal bleeding", while another costar said she doesn't want to be associated with Jen.
Jen Shah, after a conversation about her and her last episode, returned to "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City," on Sunday night to share her story.
Viewers watched as her co-stars reacted to her arrest over the course of two hours. Shah is accused of selling and generating "lead list" of innocent people that could be used in a telemarketing scheme for nearly a decade. Many of the victims were working-class and elderly. In April, she pleaded not guilty to conspiracy for wire fraud and conspiracy money laundering.
After she entered her plea, we saw her meet Clayton, her lawyer.
In a confessional, she stated that "What I have been accused is completely the opposite of everything I would ever do in life." "If there is any fault in me, it's because I am too generous and help too many people."
She said that the entire situation was "like, surreal," and she spoke with her lawyer. After describing her thoughts about Sharrieff's illness, she said that she believed she was being arrested. Viewers saw that she received a call from her costars while riding in a van. She then abruptly left, claiming that her other half was suffering from "internal bleeding." The other women assumed that she had lied about her hospital experience and received a call alerting them about her arrest. Jen says that this is not true.
"While I was on the bus, I received a call from my husband that showed me his phone number. In a confessional, she said that I was confused and thought it was my husband's voice. They told me to go home and get Omar. Sharrieff is at the University of Utah hospital. I went straight to Sharrieff's place and asked, "Oh my God, Sharrieff is okay?" This is an emergency.
According to her attorney, she stated that she was pulled over by authorities after she left in order to speak to her. She added, "I didn’t know what was happening."
"I feel like I'm still shocked. She then said in tears, "I didn't grow-up with a lot, but I worked so hard for where I am." "To make this happen, I tried so hard to help others along the way. I don't understand. It's the worst thing about it. It's killing me to see it affect my husband, and my sons. They shouldn't be hurt."
Jen was gone for the night. However, the other cast members had much to say about Jen's arrest.
Lisa Barlow was shocked to discover that Shah wasn't "who she thinks she is". After their Las Vegas fallout, Barlow accused Jen of sending "disturbing” text messages to the cast members. Barlow said she believed Jen was sending them because someone spelled "because" in the same way Shah did, writing "bcuz".
Meredith Marks claimed she hired a private detective because Brooks Marks, her son with whom Jen had had dramas, was "being threatened." According to Meredith, the investigator stated that it was "extremely likely" that Jen was involved.
Then, she asked the other women whether they still wanted to be friends and continue their friendship with Shah. Heather Gay and Jennie Nguyen were not ready to give her up, but Marks was done. "Can we speak about the hundreds of lives she has ruined by her actions?" She's supposed to make me feel sorry for her. Meredith exclaimed. Meredith exclaimed, "At what point can you say enough is enough?" We are not friends. To be friends, you must have trust. I accepted the chance. I was constantly abused and slapped in the face by her. Why would I come up for her? Tell me.
Meredith finally said that she was done with Jen and added, in confession, that she would be "utterly revolted in Shah if the allegations were true. Then, she told all the women that she did not want Jen in her presence. She didn't want Jen in her store, in her home, or near her family. Jen is not invited to my home.
As the trailer for season 2 showed, it's unlikely.
