Deadpool 3 will reportedly bring Elektra Natchios, played by Jennifer Garner, back to life.
Deadpool 3 is clearly bridging the gap that exists between the Marvel films made by 20th Century Fox, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This has been made more obvious with a recent casting announcement.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Jennifer Garner will reprise her role of Elektra in both the 2003 Daredevil film starring Ben Affleck as well as its spinoff, named after Garner's character.
Garner and Marvel have not commented on this report.
This will be the third time Ryan Reynolds Merc with Mouth has appeared in the MCU, since the first two were produced by Fox. Daredevil, the X-Men, and The Fantastic Four were all Fox properties.
Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine, and the film will be the first R rated MCU movie. The other returning stars are Morena Bakcarin, Leslie Uggams and Rob Delaney. Stefan Kapicic is also back. Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, and Brianna Ildebrand all appeared in the Deadpool 1 & 2 movies.
There is no news on whether Josh Broid and Zazie beetz, who appeared in the second movie, will return.
There are no MCU characters confirmed either for the movie, but given that this marks Deadpool’s first entry into the separate universe, there's a pretty good chance we'll see some serious multiverse crossovers.
Affleck could return to Daredevil/Matt Murdoch. Will Garner choose to avoid her ex-husband on screen and instead cross paths with Charlie Cox who first appeared in a Netflix show before appearing in Spider-Man No Way Home or She-Hulk, the MCU's version of the character?
Only time will tell. Deadpool 3 will be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
