"Even though my hair was burnt and my head was scorched, and even though I was hit with a fireball, I still had a meal to make!"
Jimmy Kimmel opened Jimmy Kimmel's show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Monday with a story about a near Thanksgiving disaster. It involved a rogue fireball that almost burned off all of his hair.
The harrowing tale was prefaced by him saying, "I wish it could be the first time that I've done such a thing."
Kimmel said that he used to light the oven and let it fill up with gas before putting a piece paper in the fire. This caused a small explosion.
You'd think that I'd learn, but I haven’t. He said that he tossed the cake in the oven and boom it came back at him. "It was a good thing that I was wearing a cap, otherwise I would have been bald tonight."
He also shared an image showing the aftermath, which included black ash and charred bits from his arm hair as well as an unfortunate portion of his hair that was missing from his head.
He continued, "Roasting and singing my hair was very unpleasant." "I believe burning hair smells bad because it's God's way to tell you that you are on fire.
Despite all the chaos at Thanksgiving, the 54 year-old still cooked the holiday meal for his family.
"Even though my hair was burnt and my head was scorched, and even though I was hit with a fireball, I still had a meal to make!"

Kimmel also posted the picture of his seared face to his Instagram account on Thanksgiving. Kimmel was seen looking at the camera as he held up his ash-covered arm, while wearing a baseball cap which saved most of his hair.
Happy thanksgiving to everyone. He captioned the photo, "Please don't burn your eyebrows or hair by lighting the oven!"
Celebrity followers and friends shared their opinions on the holiday mishap with DJ Khaled saying, "Take it easy, my brother, love and blessings for you and your families, happy holidays."
