LA Man Arrest for Model Overdose Deaths and A Friend Asks to Reduce Bail on Rape Charges

LA Man Arrest for Model Overdose Deaths and A Friend Asks to Reduce Bail on Rape Charges

His lawyer claimed that prosecutors used the totally unrelated charges against him to keep him in jail while the deaths are investigated.

Update 1/27/2022 at 3:30 PM

David Pearce seeks a reduction of his $3.4million bail.

Jacob Glucksman, Jacob's defense attorney, has requested a judge to lower the amount to $100,000. He claims that prosecutors are using "old allegations" to keep him in jail while trying to link him to the overdose deaths Christy Giles/Hilda Marcela Cabrales–Arzola.

Glucksman stated in a motion obtained from the New York Post that "this case attracted media attention due to the very unfortunate deathof two women who seemed to have died from drug overdoses around November 2021."

"The [decedents] were apparently in contact with the defendant and died." However, the Court should not forget that Mr. Pearce has not been charged with any offenses related this unfortunate incident.

"The People seem to have 'dusted' old files against Mr. Pearce, and in turn, filed very grave offenses against him, which carry the possibility of life imprisonment in an attempt to keep Mr. Pearce in detention while they continue investigating the deaths of the females."

"The defense doesn't argue that the People can do this. However, bail should be proportionate to the alleged offenses, and not issues which, at this point are speculation and media fodder."

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office to date, no one has been charged with overdose deaths.

Pearce was initially taken into custody in connection to the deaths on suspicion of manslaughter. However, the LA County DA's office later charged him with four separate sexual assault charges.

Brandt Osbourne was freed on December 17. The DA's office decided not to indict him and requested further investigation. His arrest was retroactively reduced from a detention.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Inmate Locator, Michael Ansbach was arrested with Accessory After the Fact. He was released on a $100,000 bond December 16 and will return to court on April 14. According to the DA's office, this is not related to overdose deaths.

TooFab could not be told by the LAPD, LACSD, or DA's office what crime Ansbach was allegedly involved in.

Glucksman stated that Pearce works as a freelance entertainment planner and can not afford to pay for it. He also claimed that Pearce was more at risk of Covid in prison because of pre-existing medical conditions.

Glucksman addressed all four allegations of sex assault, writing that the 2010 incident was not reported until last years "when the complaining witness found something on Instagram which triggered her memory", while Glucksman's 2019 allegation was made in November by a woman who doesn't live in the US.

Glucksman stated that counts 3 and 4 refer to offenses that were alleged to have occurred in 2020. They were rejected by District Attorney's Office due to problems of proof.

"In fact, one complaining witnesses was interviewed recently and stated that her memory of the incident was 'hazy'. There is very little, if any, evidence linking the Defendant with these alleged incidents. In fact, the complaining witness has admitted to engaging in consensual sexual sex at least once.

Jan Chillers, Giles' husband, told The Post about his frustration at not being charged.

He said, "Honestly, the greatest frustration is that they haven't brought any charges against any one of these guys for the incident to my wife and her friend." David is still in prison and cannot hurt anyone else, which is the only consolation prize.

Update 12/16/2021 07:50 AM

David Pearce was charged with the sexual assault of four other women.

George Gascon, Los Angeles County District Attorney, announced Friday that the 39 year-old was facing two counts of forcible sexual rape as well as one each of rape or omission of consciousness and sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Also, he is accused of assaulting a female victim in August 2010 and raping her in February 2019. He also raped a woman last year in separate incidents.

"My office takes violence against females very seriously. "By aggressively prosecuting cases of sexual assault, we make our community safe and protect others from becoming victims in future," said the DA in a statement.

"This case is still evolving. We continue to work closely with law enforcement in the development of evidence for other possible crimes. Los Angeles Police Department is available for any information.

Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide is still investigating the case of Christy Giles & Hilda Marcela Cabrales - Arzola.

LA Man Arrest for Model Overdose Deaths and A Friend Asks to Reduce Bail on Rape Charges

Three men were arrested by police in connection with the deaths of Hilda Marcela Cabrales–Arzola, Christy Giles and two other victims. They were discovered abandoned outside different LA hospitals last month.

According to the New York Post, Brandt Osborn (42), was taken into custody on Wednesday at NCIS: Los Angeles' set on Wednesday for accessory to manslaughter.

The LAPD's Homicide Bureau detectives made the sweep as the procedural was being shot near Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Two other men were also arrested, David Pearce, 37, on charges for manslaughter and Michael Ansbach, 47, on charges for accessory to manslaughter.

According to the LAPD Pearce is currently being held on $1,000,000 bail while the other two are held on $100,000 bail.

It released, "Based on the investigation," that the LAPD said in a statement.

Alexandra Creteau, and David Murrietta Jr were unrelated to the case. They told the Post Osborn had told them in November during a commercial shoot that he had dated the woman and dumped their bodies.

Murrietta stated that Osborn said to her, "I have had the wildest weekend of my lives." "He told me about how two girls went out and had fun, and that the girls got a lot of drugs.

Murrietta claims that Osborn said to him that he had left his apartment for the Covid test. When he returned, his roommate informed him that Giles was dead.

Murrietta stated that "He checked her pulse and freaked out. They decided not to call 911."

"Then, they didn’t know what they should do. They didn’t want to call 911 or get into trouble so they decided to drive to drop her off at Culver city hospital.

"He was like, "We dropped the first girl off. We came back to our house." Then he checked the pulse of the second girl and it was very faint. So they tried to decide what to make with the second girl.

"I got her in my car and decided to drop her at a second hospital so she wouldn't be caught."

Murrietta claimed Osbourne said that police had searched Osbourne's apartment on the day the women were discovered, but that no charges were ever filed.

Murrietta stated that his biggest concern was the fact that the girls peed in their bed at night.

TooFab Osborn was told by a source at "NCIS:LA," that TooFab Osborn was working as background artist on the day. He is not part of NCIS's regular cast and crew.

A model-aspiring friend was found dead in her LA home on Sunday morning. She had been discovered unconscious by another patient.

Christy Giles ( pictured) and her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales–Arzola went to a party in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night before heading to West LA to find an apartment.

"Twelve hour later, three men dressed in all black and masked with bandanas dropped Christy off at the hospital sidewalk," a GoFundMe appeal for the women. "Christy was already dead and declared dead on the spot."

It claims that Hilda was dropped off at another hospital two hours later by the same vehicle and two masked men. "Hilda is currently on life support, with no brain activity and little chance of recovery.

LAPD stated to ABC7 that initial investigations point to an overdose. However, Giles' husband Jan Cilliers said foul play was involved.

According to the husband, he had been visiting his father in San Francisco over the weekend. His wife, however, stayed behind and went out on Saturday night with two friends at 5PM -- twelve hours after she was last heard from.

The third friend returned home and told him that the two women had met men at a party in the town before returning to their apartment.

Cilliers stated that he and his wife had been sharing their locations via cell phone for safety.

He said, "I have all her messages from that night, and she was texting Marcela at 5:30, saying, let's get out here with the wide-eyed emoji."

He said that no messages had been read or sent after he searched through iCloud.

Giles was found dead in Culver city 12 hours after the last text was sent. Hilda was discovered at Kaiser Permanente hospital, West LA two hours later. She remains critical.

Cilliers believes both women were drugged.

Cilliers stated to ABC that Marcela's toxicology report was back and they found heroin in her system. This is something neither of those girls would do, not voluntarily."

Cilliers stated in the GoFundMe that "this story is not by any means unique." "Since Saturday, we've all been receiving a lot of messages from other women who have very similar stories to ours, with the exception that they survived.

The fundraiser has raised $81k and will be used to pay for funeral and memorial expenses, as well private investigators. He stated that the concrete case would bring justice to both these innocent, young women who have passed on. To protect any other female who could have been or could be affected in a similar manner."

ABC reported that he said: "People share amazing videos with her. It just brings back her energy. I know I won't ever get to see or kiss her or touch again. It's so heartbreaking."
