The NES Zapper gun with its orange trigger should have been a warning sign to the robbery suspect.
According to South Carolina's York County Sheriff's Office, there was no need for a scream when the gun was pointed at a recent robbery.
Authorities have revealed that the recent robbery at a local convenience store called Kwik Stop was actually done using a spray painted Nintendo "Duck Hunt' game pistol.
David Joseph Dalesandro was arrested by police shortly after he allegedly presented the modified NES Zapper Light Gun in the robbery, according to WYFF news 4.
The crime occurred around 5:45 pm on Tuesday.
Witnesses reported to authorities that a man with a wig and mask entered the store and demanded money from the cash register. The man is said to show the clerk a gun that was tucked in his waistband.
The orange trigger on the "gun" that is now in possession of the law enforcement agency as evidence was missed by the person who attempted to modify it ingeniously (see above).
The NES Zapper was a key accessory to the game "Duck Hunt", which was released in North America on October 15, 1985. Below you can view the original.
The police say that approximately $300 worth of goods were stolen.
Dalesandro was arrested shortly after the robbery, in the parking area of Dollar General, not far from the crime site.
The NES Zapper was found in the pants of the suspect, according to deputies. He was immediately arrested and booked at the York County Detention Center.
