"My friends suggested that I leave to avoid me vomit on any of my constituents."
Dana Nessel, instead of hiring a PR firm for crisis management, addressed "Tailgategate" via a simple Facebook post.
The Michigan Attorney General shared a photo showing her slumped in the stands and apologized for being drunk at a college game.
After being wheeled out of the stadium with a wheelchair in order to not "puke on her constituents", AG claimed that the incident was caused by two bloody marys and an empty stomach.
The state's top prosecutor, in her "OFFICIAL STATEMENT ABOUT 'TAILGATE 'GATE", revealed that her staff had asked her to use a crisis PR company to cover up the vodka misadventure at the University of Michigan Wolverines Vs Spartans of Michigan State on October 30.
She wrote, "Instead of thinking I would just share what happened that fateful day."
"Before the big match, I went to a tailgate with a full stomach. To my surprise, MSU tailgates are more alcoholic than food. I decided to try 2 Bloody Mary's. As long as there's enough vegetables, it's almost a salad.
"This was not a great idea. Aside from that, I may be a horrible bartender."
During the "(which I believe Michigan won!)" game, she said that she felt sick. She said that she felt sick after the game.
"I lay low for a while but my friends suggested that I leave to avoid vomiting on my constituents (polling consistently shows that 'Roman showers’ are not popular among most demographics).
After she was helped up the stairs by a few people, she claimed that someone grabbed a wheel chair to stop her from slipping in the parking lot. She maintained that she was a smart person who attended parties where alcohol is involved and had a designated driver.
"I went home and fell asleep on the couch. My wife put blankets on my head and gave me Tylenol and water for the headache that would follow. "Best wife ever!" She wrote.
"So there. This is the shocking tale of what happened at Tailgate-Gate.
Nessel stated that she would normally have asked Kelly Rossman McKinney, her trusted friend and communications savant, for advice on how to handle the crisis. But she died last night so she can't." The 67-year old PR pioneer lost her fight with cancer Tuesday night.
"I am human. Sometimes, I make mistakes. Nessel wrote that this was certainly one of those instances. "My sincere apologies to Michigan and especially the Michigan fan who was behind me for this unfortunate incident. You can't see everything.
"From now on I promise never to drink empty stomach and certainly never to have another Bloody Mary. It's going to take me a while before I can get rid of that bitter taste.
"Sorry to all those who supported me in my downfall. I will do better.
Nessel had tweeted photos and congratulations to MSU for the win on the day of the match, but failed to mention that she didn't get to see the entire game.
