Kim Cattrall is returning to "Sex and the City," a shock for fans who remember her famous feud with Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress will make a cameo appearance in the Season 2 finale for the sequel series, "And Just Like That."

Kim Cattrall is probably the least likely name that fans of 'And Just Like That' could have heard associated with Season 2.

"I was excited by the idea," Sarah Jessica Parker said ET in regards to the small cameo which leaked earlier in the month. Samantha and Parker's Carrie will share a call at the end the season, according to reports. Could this hint at more in Season 3?

Parker said, "I thought that was a great idea. I was so happy that we were able to make it work for her. It's really nice to see." It's very nice. "I was very pleased."

In the fictional world of "AJLT" Season 1, Samantha and Carrie's friendship has also been strained by a disagreement over business. Samantha "appeared" in "AJLT" season 1 via text messages. Cattrall wasn't involved.

Parker says that their fractured, long-distance friendship will continue in the second season. The last time fans heard, Samantha lived in London and the two were planning to meet in Paris for drinks.

Parker told ET: "I believe it reflects our relationship, which we have been sharing through text messages for the past season and season this year." "You know, Carrie has a very important relationship, and it's filled with love."

She continued, "We thought it was really nice to put a person to the text. It was really to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ["SATC "]." She described it as a "lovely gesture" that landed in a "sentimental time."

Cynthia Nixon, (MIranda), was disappointed by the leak. She said, "We hoped we could keep this under wraps." "Unfortunately, it has been revealed. That's a real bummer. "Most of it was this surprise of her returning."

She wanted to be sure that the lead-up time didn't make it seem more than what it was. "I think that we're all emphasizing how brief it is, and it's only a moment. So don't expect anything else," she said.

Cattrall's departure from the revival series stems from a long-standing feud she has had with Parker. She cited "heartbreaking storylines" that she felt weren't true for Samantha as the reason she dropped out of "SATC 3". However, feud rumors had already been circulating.

The beef between Parker and Cattrall began in 2017, when Cattrall gave an interview to Piers Moll and stated that Parker "could've been nicer" towards her. When Cattrall's unexpected brother passed away in February 2018, Parker offered her condolences to her former co star.

SJP's announcement of the death of her brother was "Dear Kim, My love and condolences for you and your family and Godspeed to beloved brother. Xx."

Cattrall went off Parker in a second Instagram post. She captioned it: "My mother asked me today 'When will Sarah Jessica Parker leave you alone'? Your constant reaching out is a painful memory of how cruel you were.

Let me be very clear. If I haven't done so already. You're not my family. "You are not my family," Cattrall added. "So, I'm writing you to tell one last time that you should stop exploiting our tragic situation in order to restore the 'nice girl" persona.

SJP replied to a fan when the revival announcement was made without Cattrall. The fan said that she "disliked her former costar." "No. I don't dislike her. I have never said it. "Samantha doesn't belong in this story," she said. She will always be a part of us. "No matter where we go or what we do."

Nixon's decision to keep Cattrall’s cameo as a secret is easy to understand. It's not just a treat for the fans; it overshadows all of Season 2 of 'And Just Like That, including the return Johh Korbett’s Aidan.

Aidan and Carrie used to be engaged. Now that Mr. Big ( Chris North ) is no longer in Carrie's life, Aidan will return. The role is more significant than Cattrall's. However, there's no information on whether this will be an episode or a season-long story.

Sara Ramirez who plays Che Diaz suggested that Corbett be given a more substantial role, saying that he had "the welcome energy everyone needed" for Season 2. Nixon stated that Miranda has always been "Team Aidan".

She called the relationship between Parker and and "rich" and said that his return would create exciting opportunities for actors and writers. "Who are these people now?" Are they good to each other? Are they, you'll notice, sorry?" She pondered. Are they trying to correct their course in some way? Are they better off together? "Are they worse for each other?"

Parker says that Carrie is not going to be thrown into a new relationship right away. Instead, she wants her character to "resurface and reimagine life as a sole person" after losing her husband.

She said that it would be familiar to "SATC" viewers. She explained, "I mean by that the pursuit of happiness, the kind of buoyancy and romance of this city, and the possibilities and all that happens when you're on the path to discovery, whether that is professional or romantic, discovery." "It's amusing, it's whimsical, it's absurd."

Carrie's dating style will be more refined, she said, as a mature person with more layers. She said that Carrie is an independent adult who doesn't have to depend on anyone.

"But she's someone who is, well, romantic, excited by the flirt and the chase but perhaps more on her own terms than what she could have created in her youth."

The second season of "And Just Like That", which premieres on Max Thursday, June 22, begins.
