Authorities continue to investigate the murder of Rachel Morin, a mother who was killed. They vow to track down "the heinous cowards" who committed her crime.

Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler, of the Harford County Sheriff's Office, released a video on Thursday to update the public about the case. The case began on Saturday, when Morin, 37-year old mother of five, from Bel Air in Maryland, , never returned after a run. Her boyfriend reported her as missing before her body turned up the next day on a hiking trail.

Richard Tobin's Facebook page has been flooded with speculations about his involvement since the news broke. He even said, at one point, that he loved Rachel and would never harm her. Let the family grieve, and let me. Yes, I do have a history but I am also 15 months clean. I've changed. Please."

Gahler stated that one of the questions his office continues to receive "relates to whether or not we've interviewed the boyfriend." Then he confirmed that they had -- adding "along with a lot of people who were close to Rachel."

He continued, "That's how an investigation is conducted." "We begin with those who were in her inner circle, and then move outward.

Gahler said that 10 investigators have been assigned to this case. They "continue to be on call around the clock." He stated that the detectives, forensic analysts, and crime analysts have "scoured every detail" of the days before Rachel's death to create a comprehensive timeline.

Gahler said that the Sheriff's Office received over 100 tips from community members. He said that some of these tips have been "promising and tremendous" in furthering the investigation. They also brought us closer to the answers we need, those that Rachel's parents and community are looking for.

He thanked the community for its support and encouraged everyone to continue sending in tips, even if they deemed them "insignificant," because "they might be the key information we are looking for."

He addressed those "concerned that someone might be praying on women in our midst," saying he understands their fears, while revealing the increased police presence on hiking trails.

Gahler said that there will be "a heavy presence" of deputies in the area patrolling by foot, bicycle and ATV. He also said that $20,000 was secured to "fill an urgent need" to purchase a second ATV. This will allow them to have one on each end of trail to ensure everyone's safety.

"I know many of you are looking for answers, and so do we. "I can say for certain that this was a deliberate taking of life," explained he. Please know that we will keep all details secret to ensure a suspect's justice. When I am able to share more, I will do so. I also promise to answer all questions. It is a delicate balance, to keep the public informed. But it cannot come at the cost of a good investigation.

In his message, he concluded: "Please take care of one another and watch out for eachother." Together we will solve the crime and find that heinous coward, who stole Rachel Morin away from her friends and family.

Gahler, during a Sunday night press conference, said that the case had changed from being a missing person into a murder after her body was recovered. He was reluctant to say what he found, but said that there were "indicators of murder" and that detectives are "sadly" working on a homicide.

He continued by saying, "At this time, there's no suspect." Later, he reiterated: "There is no one that I could put in the category of a suspect. Zero."
