Skai, a Disney alumnus, was criticized for holding a raffle through her social media last weekend. She asked fans to send five dollars to her for "a chance to win a MacBook Air."
Skai Jackson , a Disney alum, ran an online giveaway through her social media account for a MacBook Air during the holiday weekend of July 4.
In her Instagram stories on Saturday and Twitter, she shared the winner's IG account. Before that, she received a barrage of negative comments from fans who were surprised to learn she charged five dollars and asked them to deposit it into her cash app for a chance at winning the device.
PopCrave shared a TikTok live of the "Jessie" & "Bunk'd' star clapping in response.
She said that it was not a big deal to spend $5. It's called a lottery. She also said that she didn't need any money. She said that money raised would "go towards the prize and then, as I said, if anything is left over, I will be doing a second give-away soon."
It's not known how much money she raised for the second giveaway, as she did not disclose the number of people who entered the first raffle.
She did say that she was fine financially just in case anyone had any doubts, which, based on the reactions of Twitter, they definitely do.

She said: "I don't say this to brag or belittle you, but just let you know that I personally do not need money. I'm doing very well in my life. "I don't want money. I don’t need it."
The whole situation confused fans. "So, basically, all Skai fans pooled together their money to buy one fan a Mac?" One fan said. "A celebrity should buy it and the money goes to charity."
Why does she charge for admission if she claims that she doesn't have the money? Another person asked. This not strange to you? Another joked, "I guess that Disney check has finally run out."
