Dozens celebrities, including Kevin Hart, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Queen Latifah and Will Smith, reacted to Foxx’s Instagram video in which he said he had been to "hell" and "back" during his health scare.
After he revealed his health status for the first since April, Jamie Foxx received a lot of love and support from celebrities.
The 55-year old actor posted a video on Instagram Friday night in which he revealed that his condition had become so serious that he didn't know if he would "make it through."
"First, I want to thank everyone who has prayed for me, man, or sent me messages. Foxx said, "I cannot begin to tell how far I have come and how much it has brought me back." "I had to go through something I never thought I'd have to."
"I know that a lot people were waiting or wanted to hear updates but, to be honest, I didn't really want you to see my face like that," he said. "I want you to see my laughing, partying, telling a joke or doing a television movie show. I didn't think you should see me with tubes coming out of my body and wondering if I would make it.
Foxx continued, "And, to be honest, my sister Deidre, and my daughter Corrine Marie saved my life." "To them, God, and a great number of medical professionals, I am able to give you this video."
The Beat Shazaam presenter went on to express his gratitude for his family's efforts in keeping his illness a secret.
Foxx stated, "I can't tell you what a great feeling it is to have your family step up in such a big way." "And, as you know, they were able to keep it tight. They did not let anything out. "They protected me."
Foxx joked that people assumed that Foxx was blind, paralyzed, or a clone because he and his parents were "quiet".
He said, "I went through hell and back and my road to recover had potholes too." "But I am coming back, and I can work." "I want to thank everyone who let me work and I just want to say that I love everyone and all the love I received."
He became emotional and began to cry as he said that his journey had been "tough."
I know that people cry on videos. Foxx said, "You know, you can do take two. But I'm not going to do a second take." "This is how it is. If you see me from now on and every so often, I'll just burst out in tears. Man, it's just been a tough time. "I was sick man, but I'm now feeling better. You can see me through."
Before signing off, he reiterated that he wanted fans to remember his work.
Foxx stated, "I am here on Earth because of God. "I love you all." "I just wanted to let you all know that I am on my way back into love."
The Spider-Man : No Way Home actor captioned his tweet, "Thank you a billion... it's been a long journey but God and all of the great people have helped me get through .... ."
