According to the magazine, Cruise "is eating three stomach-churning meals per day" while Atwell continues filming Mission: Impossible 7.. Cruise, allegedly, is "crushing the weight at 190" after weeks of eating Chinese takeout and curries.

Sources close to Atwell claim that Atwell gained 20 pounds due to his broken heart. An insider says that Hayley has called it quits on their relationship, leaving him feeling humiliated and dumped. Eating is his way to get out of the doldrums. Cruise is "still a strong and muscular man," but the extra weight "is making his appearance bloated" according to an insider.

What's the Deal with Tom Cruise?

It's almost funny to see the National Enquirer latest publication on Tom Cruise. First, it's impossible to believe that Cruise is distraught over Atwell. There was never any evidence they were in a relationship. Cruise is an experienced professional, even if they were. After a brief "romance", it doesn't seem likely that he would spiral out of control.

The "20-pound weight gain” part of the narrative is the second problem. Cruise stated publicly that he takes a gym on set and follows a strict diet while filming. Cruise is so strict that he sends cakes to his coworkers to see how they taste because he cannot eat sugar. Cruise gained a bit of weight but is now approaching 60. He's allowed to appear a little puffy from time to time.

Another reason to discredit Cruise-Atwell relationship stories is the National Enquirer’s unreliable history reporting about Cruise's love life. A few years back, the tabloid reported that Cruise was secretly seeing Sofia Boutella, another star. The tabloid claimed that the couple wanted to keep things low-key, so they even wore disguises to conceal their relationship. This was just a chance for a tabloid (and false) to leak juicy gossip.
